Correct bolts for the interior door opening handles, currently self tappers rammed in
Accelerator pedal rubber, currently/originally didn't have one
Clutch and brake pedal rubbers
Window winder caps that cover the screws, I've lost mine and it spoils the look of the doors
New black silicone HT leads as my current ones are a bit shabby
Not very interesting I know, but it's a few small niggly things ticked off the list.

I've probably said this before, but I'm soooo glad you chose the wide slate MK1 grille - Black minis just look SO gorgeous with them!
And ... I'm absolutely in love with your interior, but absolutely gutted at the same time!!! (PM incoming, lol)

Except for today! Somehow, the main feed wire from the starter solenoid to the junction box had decided to come off the ring terminal, so the 12v wire direct to the battery was just lying loose in the engine bay, good job it didn't short out onto anything as it could have been disastrous. So first job was to crimp on a new ring terminal and double check the other engine bay terminations. Also, the battery was completely flat, so popped it on charge whilst I worked on the car.
First job was to replace the bolts in the door opening handles and window winders for the correct ones, 2 second job, as was fitting the screw covers on the window winders. It's ridiculous how long that's been bugging me!
Next up, replace the broken engine temperature gauge, so, dash out again. The new speaker pods have made getting the dash out so much easier as the bolts holding it in are now accessible, as before I'd have to dismantle most of the speaker pods just to get at them. With the clocks out, replaced the broken gauge and then had a thought whilst looking at the back of the dash. There was an unused led in the dash which on an MPI, (which is what my dash is out of) is for the immobiliser, (I think!) I remembered about the choke cable having a spade terminal on it...
Choke in
Choke out
(Excuse the dodgey Iphone pics, I forgot to pick up the SD car for my Ixus!)
So connect a 2 way socket to the LED wires..
So now, choke in
Choke out
I fed the power from an ignition live behind the dash, the the earth wire connects onto the choke cable.
Next up, pedal rubbers,
Old & New
And fitted
Next up, new HT leads, made no noticeable difference to how the car runs, despite the old set having quite a bit of corrosion on the dizzy cap end, but aesthetically, no end of difference as the originals were badly cracked and looked a mess
And finally, the new carpet mats
After that, decided to take the car for a run and to get some fuel, from cold, it runs alright, bit lumpy at idle thanks to the 266 cam but that's to be expected, however, under load, it ran pretty rough and on 3 cyl, so pulled over and realised I hadn't clicked no3 HT lead on properly, d'oh!
If the weathers good tomorrow, I'm off out for a trip over Hartside Pass which should be fun.
