Tiny update, (probably not even worth it lol)

Spent most of the day clearing out and sorting the garage, managed 2 full loads of rubbish in the Rangie to take to the tip so didn't have a long time to do much to the car.

Chrome dipstick and top radiator bracket fitted and gave the engine a bit of a wipe over too as it was a little grubby...

Next up, should be the new hoses to be fitted and stainless engine bay bolts as the originals spoil the look of alot of it.

Lately, I've been wondering what to do about the washer bottle, it sticks out like a sore thumb and just looks out of place against the rest of the engine bay, I have tried to find somewhere that will either make a custom cover for it, or a replacement alloy bottle, but to no avail, so for the time being, I've just sprayed the washer bottle black and going to butcher a spare chrome oil cap onto the original cap for the washer bottle. pictures of that later as it's busy drying overnight, then needs a quick polish.

My black silicone hoses came yesterday too..

I'm now on the hunt for some decent stainless hose clips or even black ones if I can find any.

Just bagged myself a full black leather interior with cream piping too, only downside is, it's at the other end of the country and at 15mpg over a 560 mile round trip, it sounds like it could get a bit expensive :trooper: Should be ok with the cruise set at 70mph though as it's mostly motorway, should see the dizzy heights of 20mpg!! If I sell the old interior, I should recoup the fuel bill for the Rangie.

Anyway, the interior should look like this....

All being well, I'll be heading down on Saturday for it.

Just turn the mixture down a bit mate. Take it easy and it should be okay. Mark were it was before and just turn it back if it starts to get really hot or (if all is well) when you get back. Instant increase in mpg :trooper:.

lol, I suppose I could pull 4 coilpacks out, make it a V4 instead of a V8, in theory, getting twice the mpg :trooper:

If only it were that easy!

But then you get fuel in the oil. Unless you take the fuel feed of four of the throttle bodies lol.

After a 600 mile round trip, (I'll gloss over how much fuel I used  ) Got the leather, They looked a little rough because by the look of them, they've never been cleaned or fed before, the back seat base sponge had the classic mini smell of what can only be described as watery rust too :teehee:

So, spent a couple of hours or so cleaning them up this afternoon with some Gliptone leather cleaner and some conditioning cream, they now have a really nice antique leather smell, a bit like a button back chesterfield .

They aren't perfect, but I'm going to get some leather colouring balm tomorrow which should hopefully see them good as new again. I'm really happy with them and they're really comfy too, more so than the half leather that's already in, and they're already comfortable.

Anyway, I'l let the prictures do the talking....

One thing I did notice about the seats was that the bottom of the frames where they sit against the floor, were pretty rusty, so rather than ruin my carpet by leaving rusty marks, I sanded the rust back, primed them, then gave them a quick coat of gloss black. The outer drivers side one was the worse, I got rid of as much as i could then painted it. I was thinking about somehow carpeting or covering them in vinyl to stop them going rusty and leaving marks in the future
