Turns out, i had 2 wires reversed on the hazard relay! Took about 2 mins to cut off the plug and rewire a new one.
Also took 10 mins to paint the engine bay & servo, although i managed to get more paint on my hands off trying to squeeze the brush into the crevises of the 'bay than what's actually gone on the car! So now i smell of paint brush cleane I'll take some pics tomorrow of the engine bay.
Unfortunatley, i didn't have a chance to get anything else done apart from reposition the battery negative lead where it bolts through the boot floor.
Tomorrows jobs will definatley be a full wash and polish, fit the seatbelts and sort the bonnet and catch.

Some very snazzy grille buttons and a polished slam panel locator brackety type thing for the bonnet catch.
Still waiting for the under bonnet shiny bits (brake res. cover & coil cover) and the other little bits from mini spares for the bonnet prop, washer jets and the nuts that hole the wiper wheelboxes in place.
Also, i'm in a bit rivalry with another guy on another site, he has a corsa which he's making into a fast road/track car with a 2.0l, cage etc. He's been taking ages with it too, it's almost ready to pass it's MOT (had 2 fails, his 3rd is booked for Saturday coming) and i stupidly bet him i would have the Mini MOT'd before his Corsa, so i'm aimnig for this Friday to get it up and MOT'd
So, i have a list of jobs i need to be do so best crack on!

Sound deadening
Also got the bonnet spike and the bonnet catch fitted, then hit a bit of a snag...
As you can see, they don't line up. I think that this was down to the bracket on the bonnet that the spike bolts in to, the spot welds had came away, so Si (who painted the car) welded it back on before painting it, he must have had it slightly out.
Only thing is, do i have the bracket rewelded and get the bonnet repainted, or do i just move the bonnet catch over a bit by re-drilling the holes in the slam panel?
Looks like my weekend MOT deadline is out the window now

I didn't realise the catch can move side to side, the bonnet now fits perfect! What a tit i felt when i texted Si back o say it was me being thick! lol
So after the numbness of the bonnet catch, i set to work aligning the bonnet, adjusting the spike, and a few other bits and pieces...
Bonnet all lined up...
Chrome coil clamp (i've still got to replace the dodgey looking terminals on the coil that Green & White fitted)
Grillle back on
New washer jets (which aren't a good fit at all!)
Dummy Airbag fitted to the wheel
Speaker pods fitted, the brackets are pretty much shot hence the gap at the top. i'll fill it with something though (still have to tidy behind the dash)
Also got the bumpers bolted down properly, bit of a *woman of ill repute* to do as i sort of didn't have the right nuts.
And how it currently looks...
So left to do for the MOT are....
Interior and door mirrors to fit, (Need to find the interior mirror first lol)
Rear foglight to attatch (need to drill the rear valance which i'm not looking forward too!)
Seatbelts to fit
Wiper motor and rack to attatch
I think that's it. So back on track for the MOT

Also bought a new interior mirror, was going to fit a standard mirror, but then spied a chrome one, sort of fits with the chrome dash vent trims and the dial rings.
I still need to fit the wiper motor, had a quick look at it today, as per everything else on this car, looks like a total pain in the backside to fit

Got the wiper motor, wiper arms and washer jets all in, lined up and working, although the new park switch doesn't work, is there any specific way you need to install the park switch?
Anyhoo...
Got the Rear foglight bracket fitted, and the hole in the rear valance drilled for the wiring to pass through.

And after messing around with a dodgey inline fuse holder...
The dreaded door mirrors are next, not looking forward to drilling the new doors
Then, if the weather holds up, i'll get the seatbelts in, then shoot over to my grannies garage and pick up the horn, then i think that should be all it needs to pass the MOT (sod's law will say i've missed something though!)

The job i've been looking forward to the least, turns out, it was really easy. Luckily i had the old doors so i could make a crude paper template, (Thanks Ed China!!) so i knew where to drill...
Template
O/S
N/S
Relieved isn't the word!
No, where did i put those seatbelts?

Managed to get all that done, then it started raining.... heavy!
Which was an ideal time to test the wipers, heater and heated rear window, everything works perfect, especially the new heater, the MPI one is 10 times better than the original one, and it actually clears the windscreen! Definatley a worthwhile investment.
The only thing i need to do now, is fit the horn, then it'll be ready for the MOT tomorrow morning, lets hope the rain holds off when i go to fit the horn!
