IT'S GONE FOR PAINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woohooo!
Anyway, not alot has really happened on teh car sicne Nov. due to it being far too cold in the garage.
I finished off a couple of bits of wiring that were left, but now i have no sidelights on the front. The tail lights work fine, and i have voltage at the front of the car, but for some reason, when i put a bulb in for the sidelights, the voltage goes to 0, but no fuses are popping so it doesn't look like it's shorting out or anything. I'll have to check behind the dash as i've added a couple of relays etc, but that can wait.
I bought a set of HID headlights for the car in December, but not sure if i'll fit them yet, the may go in my van, i'll have to wait and see....

They seem like a really good quality kit, but i'll need to adjust some of the wiring if i do end up fitting them, as they're set up for a conventional car with the battery under the bonnet.
Also, now the car has gone in for paint, i have time and space to sort through all the bits i've got so i know where everything is for refitting back on the car.
I went down last night to have a check up on how the car's going, it is half way through being prepped, couple of tiny blemishes on the 1/4's filled, a tiny bit of rust sorted round the hole where the tank sticks through, and that was about it. The passenger door that had been reskinned is pretty much ready to go, but the drivers door that has the 50p rust patch needs cut out and replaced, again, not a major job by any means.
I'm going for black car with a black roof again instead of the old english white that i had before, it will help to tone it down a bit and make it look a bit more retro with the mk1 front end.
One thing i have noticed, i bought a set of grp2 arches, but unsure if they will cover my wheels ok, has anybody used sportpack arches with 6x12 and not needed any spacers, or will i need spacers to get it looking right?
That's all for now, i'll try and get some pics of the car next time i'm in so i've got sort of a step by step of the paintjob.
