lol thx joel
hope u sorted the fuel pump out

Ok today I ripped the engine out of another mini i had which sadly the shell is to bad to repair and so the mini will be going to mini heaven :D

I also bought a new timing belt for the vaux and a new water pump along with some water flush and oil flush.. Also found out that the later redtop engine have a different amount of teeth on the timing belt so I had the joy of counting the teeth. 176 in total for the later redtop model which I have. I decided to fit the 45 Dellorto carbs and try get the engine running without all the injection C**p, before I change timing belt and pull the engine out to fit into the mini.

Or, perhaps it was just a trial fit?

Anyways, I think I have a Haynes manual at home for the C20XE engine (well, MK2 Astra one anyway). So I'll try and find it tonight and have a look at the wiring diagrams and also the dizzy/lead layout if ya still need it?

thx guys i have no idea that the original trumpet was supposed to be removed if u had coil overs but im not getting a rear beam as i have seen the problems xevalvers had!!!. anyways the subframe is like brand new i got from another mini and with a 2ltr mini I don’t think the engine will be stressing that much . No need to look for the spark order i finaly got her running tonight whoo!!!.... Sounded bit rough but im guessing i just need the carbs setting up. i love when the engine starts for the first time

no new pics to add just yet, gotta strip the engine down and pull it out then do the timing belt and other good stuff before i start messing with building the subframe.

Cheers

Aaron

It's not so much that you 'have' to remove them, but they don't do anything anymore now that you have coilovers instead.
