Lookin good Mark, just a little concerned about all that extra weight with twin silencers. Will definately have to do some weight saving measures elsewhere. Diet anyone :- .

I cant wait to get it back!!!  :)

The Exhaust does look a sexy bit of kit, will it go quicker with the different manifold etc?

Well after a bit of a break since i got the car back from Zcars at the end of october i have been busy doing loads on the house so it was left on the trailer in the garage then the bathroom suite arrived and various other stuff like plasterboard and plywood etc got piled in the garage aswell so the mini was buried behind it.
I am still awaiting missing parts for my shower cubicle(FRICKIN HOMEBASE!! :dontgetit: ) so still unable to fit it and get the garage completely empty but i managed to get the garage tidied out a little today and get it off the trailer ready to start the rebuild in the new year hopefully when the shower is finally fitted.
sorry no progress at the moment and cadwell test day maybe a little optimistic i think >_< :) :ermm:

Finally made a start today on the rebuild, A couple of friends called round to give us a lift off with the bodyshell so i can clean the engine and do a few jobs on the shell.
Still not got much room to work now until the shower & sink is out of the way.

Been out today and managed to get the engine & frame assembly all cleaned & Degreased.
I had to make a bit of trolley to move it around out of my sons skateboard but he wont mind :dontgetit: (Hasnt noticed yet anyway!!)

I just got to sort the shell out now, I got the rollcage reinforcing plates to fit and tidy up the floorpan ready to refit the frame.

Not much done today but i did do a couple of little jobs like solid mounting the engine cradle to the rear fram as it had rubbermounts fitted originally and i also wire locked them to prevent them coming undone as the engine vibrations seem to undo even the strongest spring washers.

Posted Image

I have also spoken to some fellow Zcars owners with the large bore clutch slave cylinder kit and one thing that always comes loose is the mounting bolts, again due to vibration so whilst access was easy i removed each bolt in turn, drilled a small hole in it and refitted it, then wire them up.

Posted Image

Got to get stuck into the shell now so i can get the frame refitted.

Cheers

Now scraped all the sound deadening pads from the floorpan and the rear quarters and welded the rollcage reinforcing plates in,

Going to spend this week rubbing the floorpan down and get it ready for painting so i can try and get the frame in next weekend.
Im now going to completely rewire the car as there was to many faults and a lot of voltage drop for some reason on the headlights etc so one more job to sort out plus i have bought a new wiring loom for the engine aswell.

Frame is all sorted now as there was a few jobs still to do on it like setting the sprocket alignment and the rear brake caliper carriers were shot and really worn on the sliders causing the pads to wear unevenly so new refubished items fitted and lockwired.

Posted Image

Still plenty to do but i may still make cadwell!!
