hopefully just need to get the subframe sorted, sort out the loom and then see what bulkhead modifications are needed

sounds wicked. this will be a nice project. i will keep an eye on this one.

i havent had the chance to do anything on it as buying my 1st house i should be fitting a 1275gt lump to replace the 998 thats there atm but i need to get a stomp on fitting the 1275 first so i have space for the uno lump project at my new house. its still VERY MUCH on the cards tho (just need to get the lump on the mini subframe when at my new house and see what needs cutting off/strengthening/extending etc )

Had a distant relative -in law who was on with this conversion along with the discs brakes all round. Don't know what happened to it.
He also had a 350bhp Cosworth engine in a mini too. What with the fibreglass front, doors, roof, boot and rear quarter panels there wasn't much mini left but it sounded well. Was too low to run on the road so never got a go in it
and unfortunately his divorce means i never will.
Basically if you want to put it in enough then it will fit

still havnt been able to do anything on this yet, but i met a lad at the filming of the new Ultimate Mini DVD last wednesday called toby - has a 1.6 k-series in a sweet green and silver roofed mini - dont know his user name on here, and he was certain it had already been done, but i cant find anything on it

being at the filming with my mate in his 2L vauxhalllumped mini and seeing the suziki enigned one and the k-series hasmademe want to get a crackon, so i'll be hacking the junk off the standard subframe i have and tryin to measure it up, and i think my mate with the vauxhall lumped mini will give me a hand to make the frame (i hope!!)

Anyone know who the lad with the k-series mini i described is?

Loving this idea. I had thought of doing this myself once but thats all it was JUST a thought. Ive had 3 uts in the past selling my last 1 late last year (was gutted). Totally agree the engines are sh*t hot and super fast and think the mini will go well with the engine. I was torn between keeping a mini or the uno and i chose the mini in the end, so this project is the best of bothworlds for me.

Hope it all works out for ya mate. O and if/when its up and running will you take me out in it? Pleeaasee

womwom, i really want to crack on with this, just havent got the fundage at the mo, house buying is going thru at the mo and moving in end of october so have over 2k saved for the stamp duty and fees etc so imagine how tempting it is just to take the lot and wax it on my cars!


I'm thinking of getting a clubby as the engine would fit straight in the bay with the inner wings removed with minimal bulkhead mods as a mate had a vtec in a clubby and there was loads of room (but he was too chicken to get a binny supercharger! )
