dont sell it,put it in ur mini :withstupid:

fiat engines are very under-rated i think. people used to laugh at me when i said i had an uno turbo...followed by snickering...then me saying...with 150bhp in a car weighing less than 800kg... most of my mates dont like the way they look, but they respect the engines now :withstupid:

keep me updated if u decide to do it, if the 2L block will fit, the 1372 should - as mentioned, its just the gearbox thats HOOOOJ!

I agree, Fiat engines tend to be half decent, not the best engine in the world, but certainly not the worst, its the car around them that usually made of string, cardboard and sellotape.

i was told that the turbo (IHI - size of a garret t2) was a turbo technics one, but i didnt believe it until i saw this:
Posted Image

then i spotted that the exhaust manifold had cracked. this is quite common on the uno turbos. luckily i have another from my old uno turbo. but the inlet has to come off before the exhaust will come off.
Posted Image

exhaust manifold...see the crack(s)?
Posted Image

no?
Posted Image
and theres another on the underside!

the IHI turbo all nice and clean and take off!! no play in the shaft, well chuffed....
Posted Image

cant wait to get this in the mini!! :)

on my previous uno turbo i wanted to fit a bigger turbo and had the urge for an external wastegate (EWG), BUT the bigger turbo would fit in the space that the standard smaller turbo did, so i made a quick bodge up of how i wanted the piping and got a company in my town to make it up in stainless with the right flange sizes for the turbo and EWG. i used it on my Uno turbo (on different engine management) but then sold the uno without the piping and now it may live again, or be sold

it did increase lag a bit but OMG when the EWG decided to do some work it was mental! >_<

bigger turbo and HKS EWG on relocated turbo piping.

may not use this yet, dunno, will see how it goes on the smaller turbo 1st, but i'd thought i'd let u see it as it looks mental :-
