mines a 93 sprite, and i only have two clocks, the reason i want to change to 3 clocks, is becos i got new dashboard with clocks included for rather cheap

Yes it is pretty simple, after all you are just changing one standard part for another. The only thing you need to be careful of is changing the speedo head. If you get one roughly the same age as your car it should have the right callibration, (this only applies to the offset three clock binnacle, central speedos have loads of different callibrations for different models) and roughly the same mileage would be a bonus too!
The whole affair is held to the car by four nuts in the engine bay arranged around the master cylinders. Take them off and lift the thing away.
Miniman, if it had the tacho before then the wiring will definitely be there already (unless this guy ripped the wiring loom apart in the interest of originality as well!!)
so you should have no trouble!

my 85 mayfair has a rev counter, the fact that it doesnt work is just a minor hitch

just fetched them out and the bracket seems to have dissappeared and the rev counter has broke off its mounts so they are just about scrap

All these replies and no one yet said where the two terminals being male Bullet and male spade on the back of a Nipon Seiki tacho Connect to. ( ie Bullet to Ign Positive and spade to positive coil ?)
