Vern's Tex mirrors are starting to turn a bit gay so I was thinking of getting some bullet ones.

Does anyone know which bullet door mirrors are best to buy and where from please? I'd like them to last a bit longer than shitty badly chromed things. Do I get convex or flat or downton style or torpedo, hmmmm?

Spank yous :D

Most people simply buy the first thing that's bullet mirror shaped.. which ends up being a WING mirror. All is well until fitted to a door and you have no vision on either side.

Basically.. make sure you buy DOOR bullet mirrors, and not WING mirrors. The door ones are recognisable by the plaque they have attatched to the bottom, this lifts the mirror upwards and makes it fully adjustable.

As long as you fit the right type you will be able to see.

And as for 'long life' chrome. Most chrome is fine if you actually take the time to maintain it reguarly using soft cloths with a good brand of chrome polish/protector on.

Yep had my eye on some proper door ones at minispares but wasn't sure about how long they'd last for. Also wasn't sure if flat or convex was best.

I'm just paranoid after my midland wheel chrome experience, I'm still rocking back and forth :D I did maintain them very well, religiously buffed them but alas they flaked their little selves away :D

looks like what my alloys are doing, plastic sheet and shiny stuff peeling off to reveal dull grey powdery metal. Wonder if that cud be a MWS job?

where are the downton mirrors sold? I want to see the wing mirrors of downtown...are they available? I've seen Japanese minis with Downtown/style wing mirrors before. Sorry for the hijack!
