Straightforward route - north from the port (whichever port, it don't matter) to Oostend, then east to Brussels, then south east to Liege, then the usual way to the Ring.
You will also pass Adenkirke, just over the Belgian border, where cigarettes are almost as cheap as in Germany.

How come your not going this year Tim???
wont be the same not hearing you over the two way saying "your going the wrong way!! Theres a pertol station up ahead!"
I've got a lot going on this year... a big Open University paper due in Sept, a few other things... so I'll have to pass on the 'Ring. I think I've taught you lot enough about Germany so you can get on without me now!

if you can afford it, stop.. its more fun by far!
how could you know that dave when you have not driven straight there

stopping of is just a waste of time and money unless you want to get drunk and pay over the odds for something to eat
this post is not to convince people what to do just to see who wants to drive straight there its up to you to decide
