anyone know of a good "free" program that can capture stills of a DVD.

i wanted to grab some colour images of the rally cars with bonnet and boot stripes.

Great pics guys, I always find it fascinating looking how they worked in the Abingdon workshops, some of the angles of the minis are brilliant!
I remember seeing a pic of a works mini being jacked up by a kind of trolley thing, looked like a fanstastic idea.

I'm pretty sure its in one of the anniversary edition ones from 'mini magazine' Amongst a big write up on the rally minis :P (i think it was the 45 issue)

because my GCSE DT project was inspired by it - i tried to make a jack that was easier and quicker to use on a mini.

Anorak: If you have Xp installed you'll have Windows Movie Maker. Import the video into there, you then have the option to play the vid, pause it where you want and to produce stills.

good stuff guys, thanks.

i tried that "fraps" program and got these....

they are from a film of the 1964 tour de France (mini cooper DVD) and show the works cars using the white stripes as identification marks.
one car has Two stripes, one has a single stripe on the left and one has a single stripe on the right.
all stripes continue on the boot lids...
