This is a diary of my Morspped engien build. The engine won't be going back in the car sadly as I no have my Vauxhall engine but instead will be forsale once built.
All of the used engine components from my previous rebuild have only done around 4000 miles but if selling to someone else I want the engine to be perfect and for them to be able to see what work has actually been done(unlike some of these engine on ebay)

The first port of call was back home to Morspeed for the block to have an acid dip to clean out all of the gallaries. And new cam bearings. I also picked up new mains and big end shells for it.

This was then collected a couple of weeks ago and since I have painted it with Halfords Red engine paint.

The block was honed to accept some nice shiny new piston rings.

Tonight I shall be finishing off cleaning up the rest of the pistons, putting in the new core plugs and I shall be stripping the head down and cleaning up the valves.

Both Pm'd.

Quick update but no pics until tomorrow... The core plugs are now in, all of the pistons are cleaned up and all the new piston rings are on. I have stated to strip and clean up the head which should take me into next week as I shall be lapping the valves in again and repainting it to match the block.

The I set to installing the new bearing shells and the thrust washers.

Then add crank-

and all caps, followed by torquing up to 63 ft.lb

A smeer of 20/50 is used when placing ion the bearings so that they don't run dry on inital start up.

After the crank has been torqued up I checked to make sure it was spinning freely within the shells and was pleased to find there was no resistance and was turning smoothly.

They are hepolite 21251's they give a 10.5 compression ratio given the deck hight on the block and head.
