I was going to use Bitumen pads from Newton commercials but they are very expensive, anyone know where you can get stuff cheaper?

Forget that stuff and get hold of a dynamatt roll, halfords sell it. Cheaper and better insulator. :w00t:

Well got stuck into the mini this week and welded on both front wings and front panel, also got the o/s A panel welded in place aswell, although this has taken most of the morning as it was alittle to short, so had to panel beat the lip that joined to the wing to eliminate the massive gap, but with a little help from the old man I got it sorted.

As you can see I have had to panel beat the lip and stretch the a panel to fit it to the wing, it did compare the A panel to another and it was shorted, but a little bit of fiddling and it fitted great. I was initially going to spot weld the A panels on but the spot welder was blowing holes so I had to plug weld them in the end.

Wing to inner wing plug welded

And the n/s wing is ready for the A panel (Ill weld that in after X Factor, lol

Just got to persuade dad to pic some paint up next week and try and get it painted asap, I need to get the mini back on the road as the misses Pug 106 is developing faults every week, so she'll be stealing my Bini before long!

Hi

Not managed to get a lot done this week, mainly due to doing pre reads every night after work for my IPLDP course (Life as I knew it is over)

However, Ive managed to cut and n/s wing and front panel etc and fit the new reinforcement lip so I can refit my sportspack wheels, just need to get the other side done now.

Next job will then be to paint the engine bay, then strip and rebuild rear subframe and stick back on car and then do the front subframe.

Well the never ending restoration saga continues, just wondering if Ill actually finish it before I die! lol

Anyway Subframe has been repair, had to add new closing panels on the bottom and repair a piece on the top. Then sent if off for sandblasting, then covered it in god knows how many coats of hammerite black.

Started rebuilding the radius arms etc but I managed to burn out the motor on the compressor :) so im stuck until a new motor arrives next week :)

All the welding on the shell is finished so Im just waiting for my dad to pick up some paint etc and paint the engine bay and under the wings for me, that way Ill be able to put most of it back together and get it rolling on four wheels again

That subframe looks really good, so well done for saving it. Now I'll read the thread right though and pick up some more tips. Keep up the good work!

Edit Yep, great work although I wish my comment early on about accidents hadn't been so prophetic for Huey. You'll soon have it back together.
Didn't know you had a Bini :)

The Bini is a great little car, but its no mini. Anyway already promised the offload the Bini on to the misses once my little Mini is back on the road :)

Engine bay has been painted ala rattle can! Front subframe is in and steering rack also fitted. Ive trial fitted the steering column with a lowering bracket which fits well. Ive also fitted the wiring look inside the engine bay

Next job is to clean the engine and paint it green.

I'll get some picks up soon.
