How do I....

....get rid of the filler like appearance where i have plonked another bumper on the front? I just want a nice smooth gradual colour taking into account the light.

Cheers

Blend your patch in using the smudge tool set to about 40%, then get the reflections and highlights looking reasonable.

Then go FILTER>noise>add noise - then adjust the level of noise till it looks blended in.

Soz its brief, hope it helps a bit, i'll try and do a demo or something on it sometime if you're still having trouble after having a play. :D

Cheers Dan,

I'm not taking it to seriously but it has been good fun, taking up some time at work that would have been otherwise filled by some other non-productive stuff. I'm actually not using photoshop, rather paint.net, but it seems pretty good and will have a crack at what you suggest monday!

Cheers, and be prepared not to retain your title lol :D

Hey guys n gals,

I am looking at getting started with a bit of image manipulation. Basic stuff to start off.

I'm already stuck to be fair, I can't even get going properly.

I downloaded GIMP, are their any tutorials out there for this?

If not has anyone got any tips for GIMP!

Cheers,

Russ

I used GIMP a fair bit, before I moved onto photoshop. Gimp is suprisingly good for free. Best thing to do though is practice. I know it sounds abit cliche'ish but the more you try to more you pick up. :(

Hey again,

Playing around with GIMP im starting to learn...ish.

If you were to give a quick run down of how to change colour of a car for starters.

Duplicate layer, desaturate copy of layer, add colour, then????

Think I got colour change down(ish).

Just trying to figure out how to make it look good.

One or two things I want to try...

Anyone (preferably in GIMP) give a quick run down of how to make black look good, not just like I have changed the colour in paint. And how to crome things?

Cheers.

How do people do the bonnet reveals? I.e. When they have a phot of the car and the bonnet appears see through and you see the engine through it.
