the only doors that will fit your mini are the doors it came with

the only way to adjust the doors is to add shims between the hinge and the body or elongate the holes a little with a file

As said above. The door will need shimming.

Do you need to lift it slighty and shut it, to make it flush? If so you need to add spacers between the door post and the door hinge at the bottom.

You do this by removing the 4 nuts under the wing. Theres 2 for each hinge. Remove the nuts while the door is closed, keep the plate and the nuts safe.
Open the door, be carefull as the door will drop as u open it. Take the weight and pull the door so the bolts come out of the holes.

Add the amount of shims you think you may require, refit the door, so the hinge bolts go into the holes. Shut the door and place the spacer and nuts back on, do these up just so they are tight/grab. Then try the door.

Adjust shims as required, by repeating above.

Once done, fully tighten the nuts, be carefull as they can easily round/break.

Job done.

adding shims will not fix the door.
if the back edge of the door is sticking out a little when shut adding shims will make the door sit nearer the q/panel not make it sit flush as it should.
the correct way to do it is to loosen the striker plate and move it in a little at a time.

i wuld tie a rope around it!! making sure i had tied a noose then i would sling the rope over a tree and hoist the door up til it submitted to my commands and fitted its self to the car!!

seriously tho it takes a while, trial and error, get it fitting in the gap corretly then start worrying about the lock plate!

hi,
guys cheers for the advice the door fits pretty well at the front and top but sticks out where the striker plate is, i will try moving the plate a little and see if it works then think about the shims on the hinges.

sound like a good plan??

Don't completely remove both screws on the door striker plate at the same time. If you do it will fall down inside the B post and you will never get it back. Just loosen them a bit.
