Hi there mini fans.......
Im new to this forum thing so heres what I have, and the problems i have,

I have a mini clubman, with a 1.3 metro engine with induction carb set up, running a x2 3inch centre exit dtm style exhaust. shes called sofie ( by my daughter). She has had loads done, donhnuts to hard springs, custom ice, bucket seats etc etc. Latest updates are a new starter motor and ignition barrel, strange how the small things make big improvemnets!!!! Ive put new doors and a panels on her shes all ready to go to the paint shop.

The problem I have is that the rear drivers side wheel rubbed on the arch, like overnight. On inspection I was expecting the donhnut or maybe a snapped bolt (it drooped by approx 3-4 inchs). Nothing obvious, so at great expence i replaced (on the whole car) donhnuts for hard coil springs. this helped and improved handling ALOT!!! but only if i took up the slack with the hi-los that I put on with the springs. So next I checked the radius arms, all straight and no play, but I replaced and greased up the pivot bolt anyway, no difference, Next I checked the whole the radius arm goes through on the subframe, slightly oval but not 3 inchs worth, I got a good friend to weld a spare radious arm washer to the inside of the subframe, (yes i did still have just enough thread clearence) All this and still the only solution has been the use of the slake in the hi-los. Any body got any suggestions?????

I need to get an old set of steels on her to pass the mot next week ( any body got a set i can have cheap????) falling that Ill need to tyres to fit the alloys as they are really ropey ill post the size later if anyboby can come up with a cheap price. I cant get lower than £45 each.

I am driving the 1981 Morris Mini City. All this means to me, is good gas mileage, and terribly slow.

Also what are your plans :D !

just bought mini 1000 hl. first mini ive had since in my twenties. no mods other than wheel and arch set. lots of plans for the car.bodywork first(as its summer and will be working in open air. going from bad met blue paint job either to almond or brg with white roof. then brakes discs(scary on drums, forgot how scary) then engine, don't want to go too into the tuning, a nice clean 1275 with good manifold and exhaust will do just fine....having said that i just know i'd jump at a 1380 if one became available. lots to do lots to spend. but even in the present condition of the car, i took it around the back roads for a thrash and loved it....great fun, real buzz.

I drive two minis. One is a red and white roof 1989 cooper look alike with a 1360 engine. I plan to replace the current mini engine with a honda 1.6 VTEC engine. So far it has been pretty standard with the overbore, stage one kit, play mini side exit exhaust, 13" ultralight wheels.

Mini number 2 was born in 1971 with 998 engine. Now in its grown up stage it has a rebuilt 1275 metro turbo engine, blue with a zeemax bodykit, playmini twin centre exit exhaust, 12" deep dish ultralight wheels and is still a work in progress.

Hi all, I'm new to this forum but not new to Minis. Bought my first one in 1973 and have had at least one ever since. I'm currently transforming my '64 Austin Van into a VTEC powered Clubman.

Hi, Newbies here. After owning a few mini's over the years ourselves, our son has just passed his test and is the proud owner of his first Mini! It's a D Reg (87) Mayfair. Needs a bit of TLC but is in a vibrant blue (respray) and had deep dish alloy wheels. He loves it but we do need to do some work on it to make it really nice (and safe).

Currently: Bodywork needs attention (as you would expect!!) Horn doesn't work and it needs either a new 3 dial cluster or replacement PCB (Fuel gauge and engine temp dials not working!)

Anyone in East Devon or Jurassic mini clubs on here give us a shout! All advice gratefully received!

Hello everyone, i'm new to the site.

I passed my driving test on the 20th of may and wanted a car, so I bought a 1992 Rover Mini Mayfair, 1275cc. It's my first ever car and i love everything about it, it's all original other than the filler cap, i'm hoping to restore it to it's former glory by chroming it on the wheel arches, roof trim and on the grille, hopefully get an italian Job look going. I will post pictures soon !

hello fellow mini owners :) i'm new to TMF, but i've owned my mini since i was 15, its a 1982 998 hl old X reg. When i first got it i would of said it was a faded flame red, completely standard, no mods, wasn't running. my first plan was to get it running, with the addition of a new clutch master and slave cylinder and some jump leads, i got it running, later stripped it and found alot of rotten panels, all rotten panels except front panel and wings have been replaced, engine out, subframes out and painted, now back in the shell. (engine is still out). i put new rear suspension and brakes on, and then took the front suspension and brake assembly off, the mini was then neglected for a year or two only having some minor filling and sanding, and the shell mostly primered. I am now 18 and doing my driving lessons, and have started working on it again as it will be my first car.

i have just ordered some 6x12 JDW Rally specials (alleycat replicas), and the bushings and lower arm pins ready for front shocks, i'm currently cleaning up the front hub units, ready for new front brakes, so it can sit back on its wheels as the front ends jacked up at the moment. i'm going to put a fibreglass front end on it, so i am going to cut off the rotten front panel and wings, and fit a pair of brace bars.

as regards to the engine, i'm going to clean it up and paint it, then fit a stage one kit, new coil, new plugs and leads, and a new radiator. and i'm thinking about new roller rocker tips and a new cam if i can afford it.

i have also collected alot of interior bits for it, pair of grey vinyl buckets, simoni racing x4 steering wheel, momo gearknob, jvc head unit, ripspeed aerial and a fusion 4 corner pack (600w amp, 2 6x9's, 2 5" speakers and tweeters ).

i'm going for a matte black shell, matte grey roof, matte grey bonnet, and the front end will be possibly graphite silver, and i want to add group 2 race arches (the wider ones) i think ive got a few solid months work before it will be finnished , but i will hopefully start posting pictures as progess goes on .

soo yeah, tell me what you think of my ideas :(
