Hi all

My son ( Aidan) has asked me to register for him , he,s only 14 and is mad on minis . Don,t know where the interest in minis has come from, must be all the car programms he watchs .
Anyway ...... he has an idea in his head to buy a mini , or correctly me to buy him one as a "easy project" if there is any such thing ? I,m no mechanic but not a total muppet and it would be a slow project i suspect due to time and money .

I,m sure he wants to ask loads of questions , as do i , on the likely cost of purchase , repairs, what to look for etc etc ..

I,ll post in the general section soon .

Thanks .

Thanks, i think its the arches with 7" wide wheels that make it look wide and low, its still got the suspension so its not been lowered.

I have a John Cooper LE Mini manufactured in 2000, that goes by the name of "Alfie". It is Brooklands Green in colour.

It has been off the road for a year as it got hit in the back end (which is now all sorted), but it has put the front end to shame as it is in need of some TLC, so I am sure that I will be asking for lots of advice.

Moke owner here in Sussex.
I bought my Portugeezer new from Duncan Hamilton back in 1988.
Over the last 20+ years there have been times when it has languished in the garage without turning a wheel for the whole summer and other times when it was my only transport.

The hood went to the great cabrio shop in the sky many years ago. but apart from that it is tatty but still going.

It never fails to bring a smile to my face when I drive it........
