terry tug here,i have a 1959/60 austin severn speedwell blue,in good nick but just having front end done & full respray,ready for shows.what r you driving?. terry.What mini do you drive and are there any mods done to it ?

I drive or even garage a 1994 Mini Tihiti 1275, It has all the basic Mods 13 inch mini light stright through twin exhaust, crome bits, K&N, Lowered steering, sports wheel. The bumpers have been removed and it has a fantastic paint job, incorperating bright orange with the tihiti blue. Currently working on fitting a flip front and some better suspention.What mini do you drive and are there any mods done to it ?
Also what are your plans !

Hi, My name is Lee and when it's working, I drive a 1992 Rover Cooper SPI 1293cc, it's had shed loads done to it by one of the previous owners, but at the moment it seems to be in 'Limp Home' mode. can anyone help?What mini do you drive and are there any mods done to it ?
Also what are your plans !

Im in the process of a full restoration of a 1979/80 mini 1000. This is my third mini but i never really went very far with the other two in working on them. They were a pretty standard 86 1000 D839 RTW and then a 98 sportspack R67 AAB if anyone knows of them pair (Donnie and Raab) ??? I used to be a member of miniskidmarx but when i sold the cooper i lost touch with all the club members and fell away from the mini scene for a few years.
I then was in the process of building a lotus 7 kit car that has now been sold and then told my father i wanted another mini, we cleaned up the garage and i set about finding a project. This appeared from a friend that had stored it in the garage for 3 years. When i got it home it was a state. Everything had to be replaced! And i mean everything the only panel i havnt really messed with is the roof.
I have been working on the car since sep 2006 and im getting to the point now when it needs to go away and be sprayed. I have rebuild everything myself and i have lots of new techy bits to put on the car. When complete it will be a gulf racing inspired 998.

I NEED ADVICE on this as i would like a suitable engine for the road but with a bit of zip when i want it, im not looking for top end speed i would like it to be more of a sprint car. Gearbox is STD Rod type though with a 3.44 diff.
Work i have had done and parts i have:
Core plugs removed and block chemically cleaned.
New Core plugs.
Block bored and hones +060
Flat top Minispares pistons with floating pins and hastings rings.
Block Top Skimmed flat.
New Cam bearings.
Crank Journals reground (polished)
Center main strap.
266 Camshaft (minispeed) maximum 6500RPM
Duplex Vernier Timing gears
New oil and water pumps gaskets and seals.
Weight matched conrods +/- 0.5grms
Cylinder head i need advise on??? Whos good and whos not. Original head wanting to be used!
Rockers??? std can they be used or go roller?
Flywheel and clutch specs inertia type??? Rally plate and orange diaphram? Uprated clutch release bearing?
Fueling: Carb setup and needle selections.
Exhaust: Help selection???????
electronics: Dizzy etc coil selection?
Would like to put an v small oil cooler in and small catch tank just for looks really. 7 row? smallest i can get?
Gearbox.
Std 4 syncro Rod box with new bearings and baulkrings, Comp diff pin and planet gears. 3.44 Diff.
Suspension. Running Gear
Front: Going for Coil over Protech shock conversion. Negative 1.5degree botom arms?? Uprated tie rods and all poly bushes on subframe.
Rear. Beam Axle setup with Protech Coil overs, recon/modified radius arms all new bushes.
Brakes
Rear: Mini fins and fully rebuilt back plates and hubs. All new lines and goodrich hoses.
Front: 8.4 setup with grooved and drilled discs with greenstuff pads. not sure to go to billet calipers now???
Body:
1979 mini 1000, new floor, new everything, front end removed and brace bars fitted. 1 piece F/G flip front. Perspex glass apart from windscreen. Basically if i dont need it get rid of it basis of the project. 6 point Cage. F/G boot lid. Center mount twin filler alloy 11 gallon fuel tank (thanks to Rad-tec great company!!!!) earls hose and oil lines (Gulp Pricey!!!). Gulf blue and orange paint. Interior lack of it. 2 bucket seats/ 4 point harnesses and a works dash setup, but v different, and i havnt seen this done before. : ). Few bits of sound proofing here and there. Thats about it.
It will be a road legal hill climb based car.
If anyone is willing to help out a keen young engineer that takes so much pride in his work please email me as i will be most grateful ([email protected]). I want to be someone that is able to keep these british motor icons on the road!!!! Or if anyone is local to me m54 Jct 3 and could spare a summer evening or an hour at the weekend with building this engine up ill get them a beer in!!!
Im new to this forum stuff so i dont want to jinx myself by sticking pics up with this post as its taken me ages to write all this. My facebook page does have pics of my projects on it so add me (Adam Fellows/ West Mids Network - black and white pic of me pulling a stupid pose!!! lol). And i will put some on this later.
If anyone has a club that i can join that is based around Telford, Albrighton, Shifnal, Codsall, Perton, Bishops wood - someone has a cool white and black mini here, Wolverhampton or Cannock area get in touch i want to get back in the scene and this is going to draw attention!!!
Hope everyone had a classic easter and didnt drink too much as they have had 4 days off lol, i manged to get all the welding under the car finished and still had time for a mars egg.

According to the rolling road printouts from the previous owner it had around 125bhp at the wheels.
I think the carb just needs adjusting slightly as its running a little bit rough at the min? Problem is.....I don't have a clue how to adjust the carb!
