Hi everyone

I've got a mini clubman estate in seventies orange and a '95 cooper S. Clubman is mostly original (except paint) and cooper's going for it's mot (2nd time) after 2 1/2 years of the road. The cooper is going to the IMM in holland in may so she should be run in by then!

Had a 73 clubman in harvest gold, had to give it away to get it restored! A city which was in a terrible state, sold to mate to build a mark one replica and a checkmate which has since been sold and should be back on the road by now.

Sarah

Hi all,

1968 Mini Moke with 1380cc engine. Lowered on 10" wheels and used for motorkhana (autotests)
1970 Cooper S, 1430cc, unregistered, used for club motorsport
1972 Clubman, 1098cc, Honda disks, 12" wheels.
2002 MINI Cooper S, my current daily driver (not as fun as the Clubman)

we drive a white mini 35 called Noa, he is in amazing nick, and the only mods we are definately doing is to add spots and chrome wipers. - not sure how to wire in spots yet - will ask forum when we get round to it - we did think about changing chairs but as every thing else is original thought it may be best to keep them. what do others think?

Mods :

  • Wide wheel arches. Fabricated and fitted by myself.
  • Mini True Superlite alloys. Fitted myself with runflat kevlar tyres.
  • New M.D.F centre-unit with 'leather-look' vinyl, incorporating handbrake and gear stick with leather gear stick protector, along with Sony CD/MP3 headunit.
  • 2 6'x9' JBL speakers located under rear seats in the footwell. Wiredup and fitted myself.
  • Totally replaced all 4 brake discs/calipers and pads, replaced them with 'Brembo' rally series callipers and pads. New brake fluid throughout, (the old stuff was awful when I extracted it.)
Had it over 2 years. Restored everything above along with taking out some dints in the bodywork and replacing the sunroof.

GREAT mini mate

I drive a 1979 Clubman GTS.

The car was completely stripped to a bare shell and then painted in a dark metallic blue(Perissian Blue).
The car was then reassembled with a few extra parts being added along the way. These extra parts include:
13" Mini-Lite Mag Wheels
Pirelli 175/45 ZR13 Tyres
Chrome Lock-Nut Set
Chrome Wheel-Arch Mouldings & Side Strips
Cooper Cylinder Head With Twin SU Carbs.
Twin K&N Cone Air Filters.
Four Pot Calipers on 8.5" Ventilated Discs in the front and Mini-Fin drums in the back.
Origional GTS interior with wide front seats that have been recovered in charcoal coloured cloth.
Burr Wallnut Dashboard modified for the origional three guage cluster.
Chrome Rear Numberplate Light Cover
Chrome Side Mirrors
Chrome Monza Filler Cap
Chrome Windscreen Washer Jets
Chrome Windscreen Wiper Arms
Chrome Electricaly Operated Arial

The engine has also been completely rebuilt and some minor modifications have been made.
The engine has been split up using three different colours, blue for the block and head, black for all covers and a mixture of chrome and gold for brackets.
New tandom brake master cylinder replaced origional single pot cylinder.
New plastic radiator fan replaced the origional metal radiator fan.
New radiotor with improved core and casing replaced origional radiator.
The gearbox has also been completely rebuilt and the main bearing shaft and all bearings have been replaced.
The gears have all been replaced with straight-cut gears. (Still wanting to get a 5 speed box.)
The gear leaver has also been shortened to reduce travel between gears.
The center console below the dash has been updated with all new switches for lights, hazards, rear demister and AMP on/off switch.
The ignition and wiper switches have been moved to the steering column together with the indicators in the new type of locking steering column.

ICE:
Kenwood DVD frontloader with internal motorized 7.5" display.
2 X 8" Pioneer 350Watt Mid's mounted in custom made holders placed in the wheel arches inside the car.
2 X 10" Pioneer Limpids below rear window.
12" Pioneer 900Watt Sub mounted in box in the boot.
1200Watt Kenwood Mono-Block AMP
Kenwood Digital Cross-Over
Kenwood CAP

1984 MINI city E. 1000cc engine. bit different to when original. had lots of chrome, checker and wide wheel arches with 12" alloy wheels. lots of modifications before i had it including a mini 30 interior being installed in it. i have recently added and RC40 exhuast system and stage one kit with K&N filter. put mini fins on the back and spaced disk brakes on the front to get rid of awful spacers that it had on. i am a bit new to this , only been driving a year but my family has minis all our lives. older sister has a mini city, dad has a city but 1.3 engine and roll cage and equiped for rallying. we also have a van shell that is in garage at the moment. gordon.
