Hey guys. New to the site but an old hand at the scene. Been rebuilding my 86 1275 over the last 5 years. Bought her in 2001 and got it on the road last summer.

Spec.


Lump
1275 12HD12
HIF44 Carb
Janspeed backbox on a hand made 2" system (In order to retain correct back pressure)
Lucas Sports Coil
Electronic ignition
88 Degrees T'Stat
3 Core Radiator
NGK Plugs


Exterior
Radient red with new front end, doors, rear valance, rear arch panels, rear panel lower half
Diamond white roof panel.
All new chrome
H4 Headlamp kit with 130/150 bulbs and relayed switch

Rubbers 'n' Rims
12x5 Four spoke original revolution wheels.
Hand polished rims, opel vulcan grey centres, chrome nuts with 40mm shank, porsche blank centre caps.

Yokohama A-539 Tyres.

I need to loose weight... by the way, also lost the rad again, proper one is in now and intercooler is out the front.

Well I've still got my pickup but yesterday a bought a 1275GT ;)

As it's a GT I'm not going to stick a vtec in it but leave it standard, will put some pics up soon but I'm not getting for another two weeks as I'm on a course with work....bugger :'(

:- 97 Mpi, No mods, A few chanes in mind thou.

Hi-os and a decent set of adjustables to suit,
Sports pack arches, 12x6 deep dish mini lights (keeping it real on 12's not this 13" C**p ;) ) wrapped in yoko a539's
Rc40 Catback system, centre exit.
Possibley some classic seats, or some cobra monaco's, If i can afford them.
Wouldnt mind a rear cage if i could afford the extra insurance aswell as the cost of the cage.
Would love to have a play with the brakes aswell, Superfins would be quite nice, But i think a set of EBC green stuff pads might do the trick.

Just for now

New to this forum but very old to the Mini scene. Had this mini for 15 years now, it has been stuck in my lock up for the last 12 years as a unfinished project after I stuffed it getting a bit giddy with some other car.

I will try to describe it the best I can but i have no decent photos of it since it has come back from the body shop last month.

Body Tub

1964 Mini Cooper in a type 3 three shell, fully welded up with new inner and outer cills and deseamed (left gutter seam on for colour split). ERA turbo bodykit (fitted 14 years ago when ERA's were just on sale) Remote electronic doors with no handles or locks, GTE bonnet vents.
4 Cibie Super oscars on front for extra lights, Tinted windows and shiney shiney chrome everywhere.

Donkey:

Just being rebuilt, due to collect tomorrow, after catastrophic failure due to muppet building it in first place. MED semi short throw crack, tuft rided, wedged and cross drilled, AEG521 conrods, lightened, end over end balanced with powermax slipper pistons, steel centre strap. Metro turbo oil pump, duplex timing gear, 276 race rally cam, Stage 5 head with rim flow valves and cooper rockers, ultra light weight steel flywheel and peco paddle clutch, lucas vacuumless distributer, Janspeed LCB exhaust. Twin 40 delletro side draft carb on swanneck inlet manifold, fully gas flowed. A series power is what minis are all about!

Stopping and ride.

Avo fully gas adjustable suspension units with ride height suspension, twin pot calipers on front with vented discs and wide back drums, powered by direct action servo under bonnet. Quickrak steering rack. 13x7 superlite split rim alloys with 195x45x13 rubber.

Comfort

Cobra bucket seats with four point harnesses, rear roll cage. Custom build dash with full dial monitoring of engine and split charge system, electric windows, custom door cards.

ICE

Kenwood Head unit and 12 disc changer, Spectrum analyser, JBL 4 channel 1000watt amp, 2 400watt rms
JBL 10 inch subs on back shelf, JBL component speakers in doors. Full split charge system. (speakers in boxes awaiting final install next week)

The mini has just come back from the sprayshop with a £1000 spray job which looks the buisness, I had just started assembling the car when I decided to fire it up, after getting the carb balanced again the engine started with a high knock, I shut it down and got a second opinion and the mechanic said it was cammy due to kent scatterprofile cam(now in bin) changed oil and put a flush treatment through it and put 5-30 oil in it, started it revved it and bang. Engine out, stripped it down and the bottom strap from number 4 conrod had fallen off, agp bolt had been bent onto crank after hitting cam and bending that first and damaging the bottom of the barrel. Gutted, looking and not much change out of £800 for rebuild, regrind, new crank, fully balancing them up again.

The mini will be finished and on the road before the end of April, If I can get the thing insured, when you quote lists like the above the insurance companies they either get the phone book out and pick a random phone number as a insurance quote and just decline to insure it. The last quote I had they said they would not insure it because it had a roll cage in it, stunned I asked what difference that would make and they told me it meant that I may drive the car fast HELLO does the engine not tell you that much!!!!!

I will get some piccies of it on the forum when it is back together as it is just covered in protection blankets at the moment and the front is 3 inches off the floor with the drive shafts sticking out of the arches where the wheels should be. You can wake up now after reading the long post

1991 Rover Mini Neon.
1000 Stage one kit with fast road needle.

Not mayjor plans as of yet, But for now a nice big ICE project in the planning, and when I get some more money and a better job, Ill proubly get a Clubman and turn it into a Blastic road car :ermm:

1982 mini chelsea in burgundy

hi los
12 inch mini lights powder coated grey looks good with coulor
rc 40 exhaust straight through
just putting new window rubbers and and chrome sealers in with new windscreen and same to rear
new roofliner kit
new spots
new bootlid
new wing (both sides)
lump is a 1000(i like this little engine)
would like to upgrade thou soon 1380 road race engine
pretty ok nick thou for age cannot wait to get it back on the road :ermm:

I drive a 1989 Mini 30 totally standard. My plans are to find someone to take care of some of the rust spots he now has and just to enjoy him. :ermm:

hey im new to this

i have a 1988 mini mayfair (22k miles!!!)
it has standard engine
front negative camber kit, wider arches, 12 inch "supalights" (hmmm :'( ), with yokohama rubber
adjust-a-rides and smootharides too.

thats about it really, i hope to do some more stuff soon (fast road cam, HS6 and LCB manifold, maybe even put my 1400 copper S engine in, but insurance may be a problem) , but i have a mini picadilly to be messing around with as a project car, so that may get some attention sometime.
