Hi fellow mini nuts. Just took delivery of my summer project a 1987 Mini Mayfair that requires some love. I say summer project but will obviously go in to the winter. I have joined the forum for inspiration.

Hi I'm from South Africa. I had a Clubman Estate that I bought in 2010 to rebuild but never got to do much. Anyway I sold it 2 months ago  for a big fat profit! My other Clubman was stored but rusted away to the point that when I finally got it back and opened the doors it buckled in half, so that has been stripped and will be scrapped soon. Hopefully out of it's ashes will rise another car as I'm buying a GTS body and going to put all the parts in that one. I also have a Basil Green modified 1275e engine which will go in that one.

My latest acquisition is a 1967 Austin Countryman with Australian doors meaning that it has wind up windows with external hinges. It has a 1100cc engine at present. I was offered double it purchasing price the day after I bought it but have decided to keep it and get it running. Plans are to install a 1275 engine at a later date.

Hi all for answering the topic's question:

My boy is a rare one, a Mini 25th anniversary from the about 1500 exported left hand drives, Sorryfully the previous owner was a "hotshot" type of guy and painted it to metallic black and some engine parts were replaced by not Mini parts (Those are changed back by now).

I have a 1990 mini flame red that has had extensive body work carried out by the previous owner, new front, doors,a panels sills boot floor bonnet and front scuttle finished and badged as a mk cooper s and looks brilliant but has only 998 engine.
I have now acquired a newly professional built 1380 highly modified engine with metro turbo box to fit with new exhaust ,hi low front suspension etc so catch wait to start.
Just have to build a new garage first to put it in

Hey i am new to this community. So i recently bought 93' rover mini 1.3l. it is my first project car and is for now, full of bad rust and needs lots of care and time (wich i don t really have to say truth)

At first, i would like to completely clear the rust, then to rebuild the engine and have a *as brand new" mechanic parts. then, will try to build up the power to 90-100 hp, lighten the car and once it runs good, then try to add some forced induced air (turbo or supercharger, not sure yet) and wish to get it to 120-140 hp.

the car must remain road legal tho, and as it is my first project, i will have PLENTY of questions to ask.

now here is me on this community. wish we can accomplish some great things on this project, and also wish to help as much as i can!

Thank you and have a nice day!

1960 Austin se7en            standard

1974 Mini 1000                 Almost standard (looking for the correct door cards)

1995 Mini Cooper             standard

1972 mini                          Looks like it is from the 80s with black door handles and offset instrument cluster conversion (harder than I thought!)

This was the remains of a car my family had when I was a child that was bought by a friend and went through considerable conversions, then I got it back 10 years ago or so, where it lay. Over the last 5 years My Dad did a lot of welding of new panels etc I then took it a year ago and completed the work and rebuilt it. Although it is a 1972 car, so much was knackered or removed (The whole interior had been eaten by rats) that I was basically styling from scratch. Not having a 1980s mini, I decided to go with that style. Along with lots of stuff I had lying about and some generous mini friends it was on the road last year. It is not a show car but, drives well and despite being roughish looking (I painted it from rattle cans), it is my favourite. It has the spirit of minis as I remember them as a child.

Hi all, new to the forum but have had my red' 92 spi Cooper since new.

She is all original, spent most of her life garaged and only covered 20,000 miles.  Been laid up for and SORNd for the last three years while I worked overseas, just trying to get her back in shape again now and back on the road!

New battery but the fuel pump is not priming so it looks like that will need replacing before she can venture onto the drive to replace the disks and pads, and sort out the binding rear brakes too (oh, and the heater has also stopped working  O_O

But apart from that, just a little cosmetic work (surface rust in a few areas) to sort out to get her looking good again.
