Good day from California. I'm driving my second Mini which is a 1974 Innocenti Cooper 1300. Fairly stock with aftermarket wheels and flares. I've had the engine gone over and the head ported and polished. Interior repro bits by Newton. Though it still smokes a bit and I'll eventually have to do rings. I've had it for 13 years and love it more each day. Glad a Mini friend turned me on to this forum!

See you at MMW next month?

Hi all. I had a mini a class 998 in my teenage years and dropped a 1275 gt in it (without up rating anything else of course ) and had a permanent smile on my face until I realized maybe updating the brakes might have been a good idea to help keeping ot from going through Cornish hedges I've always wanted to get another one and since Recently meeting a guy who told me he had an R1 engine in his.and last month my mate crashing my R1 street fighter that I had put a lot of love money and time in building,I thought now is the time to get another mini and put my R1 engine In it.

I'm in the market for a suitable mini (everything considered ,from a standard one with blown engine up to a nearly or even a fully completed one ..thanks in advance for any advice or leads in the right direction and what I can expect to pay to get one on the road .cheers mikey

Hi all, hope to be back soon after a long break from the mini world.
For sale locally to me was a bit of a teenage dream - I found a part dry built Pimlico. The owner had this in his body shop and for the last 3 years his business has been so busy never got the chance to complete, he reluctantly put it up for sale.
I hope I do this justice

Hi my name is David and I drive an automatic 1988 Mini City which has had a soft top conversion. My purpose for joining the forum is to try and establish which company did the conversion. The car has been in my family for at least 20 years so I guess it was done pretty much when it was new. I have been told that it may have been done by a company in Fontwell, West Sussex. Can anyone throw any light on this.

Regards,

David

I recently bought a Morris Super Deluxe Mini Minor reg OOJ 429G (Oct 1968) one of the first MK2's so I believe.

The previous owner looked after it pretty well, however they seamed to thing that it would look better with 'Cooper' Bonet & Boot Badges.

I am getting it totally re-sprayed to its original colour (Green) at the end of the month and am desperate to track down original (or replica) Badges.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello Mini

I just took delivery of my first real mini today, (bought the wife a 2010 Cooper S before I deployed to Baghdad it blew up last week ) 1994, 1275 twin SU carb setup 4speed, 2 sets of wheels originally BRG however resprayed tomato red with a cream roof and cream interior in quite good nick. It's been sitting for a while needs some TLC and UPGRADES I'm looking for some advice.
1) it needs new brakes suggestions?
2) silicone hoses worth the money?
3) Aluminum rad? Worth it
4) bushings
5) suspension best bang for the buck?
Other ideas? I'm in Japan for the next 2 years with nothing but garage space and free time.

Other vehicles 1999 Nissan Elgrand 4WD, 2006 Ford F-150 4WD, 2002 Suraru Impreza, 1993 Toyota Supra RZ auto, 2006 Honda Shadow Classic, and a blown up Mini.

After having an 850 Mini Minor way back when  have just acquired a 1995 Cooper MK VI largely to have some fun motoring! My intentions are to sort out its idiosyncrasies - so you'll be hearing more about her in the technical pages!!!

I've just purchased a 1997 Mini Cooper 1.3i, little bit work yet to do before I can't start upgrading and putting it how I want ( more track style ) however still is nice. My dad also has a 1962 mini traveler/clubman is it? It's a woody aswell so it's sort of rare as I haven't seen too many on eBay or when I've searched. I'm still quite new to the whole mini and car industry as you may call it. As I'm only 18 I've only just started taking real interest in it but my dad has brought me up round classics and I guess I've come to love them 😅

Recently purchased a Mini 1275GT which has been modified with a metro 1275 engine with twin carbs, silicone hoses, custom dash, non standard seats, it also has had the roof and bonnet sprayed black with the rest of the car being orange.

I am hoping to sort the mechanical side of things before starting on the bodywork which is 90% ok on the surface.

Its definitley a sunshine car as it brings a smile to my face and gets a fantastic reception from other drivers and pedestrians
