Hi folks, new member, I drive a 1977 1275GT, bought by my Mum in 1977. Slightly modified, fast road cam, larger carb, bored out to 1293cc, balanced and lightened flywheel. Fun to drive and plenty quick enough to surprise some modern car drivers.

Hello!

Newish Sydney based Mini owner. A red 1978 leyland, with a 1275. Have had the car about 6 months(impulse buy) done no exterior work as of yet but had to completely redo the brake and clutch hydraulics. She now stops and shifts! Currently now working on getting the engine just right.

Cheers!

I drive a 1972 Mini Cooper S Replica. The original Mini Cooper was written off and all the running gear fitted to a donor body shell. 1310 engine with lightened flywheel, scatter cam, roller rockers, twin HIF 38 carbs etc. etc. Goes good. Have fitted 13x7 Mini Lite deep dish wheels. Finished in British Racing Green with White roof and White bonnet stripes. Modified interior with high back seats and custom dash with 8 gauges. Just completed a 5 year full restoration job. Very happy with end result.

Hi and greetings from sunny South Australia

This is my new project (after a break of thirty years when as a teenager I had a couple of mini's in Perth, UK).  It was delivered locally as a 1000 in Aug 1967 (I have the log book!) but since has had all sorts done, including, I think, a Sprint conversion.  At the moment it is very much a lightened track car, but I hope to take it back to being a sporty road model.

The first challenge was to get hold of a copy of David Vizard's book, which I did from the US.  Then I had to persuade the wife to let me bring it home, but I suspect she is actually quite fond of it now.  Now I am fretting about the rear subframe, which has had a lot of holes taken out of it presumably to reduce weight (I can tell as there is no boot floor!)

I suspect this will be a long journey, but I'm not in any immediate hurry.  I've been soaking up all the advice on this site, pure gold, thank you!

And, yes, I have got the wipers back to the rest position.  Electrically and engine wise it goes really well, but as a little racing car!

Regards, Jonathan

Hello,

I'm driving a 1991 Mini Studio 2. I am relatively new to this scene as I have only had her a year, and for all of that I have just been getting her to look pretty and run sweet. I've removed the previous decals she had on her from stock and given her a respray in her original colour, and kept the original seats, though slightly tatty still show she's a studio, and am looking out for a new set.
She's a great runner and very fun to drive :)

I've just got myself a 1990 Mini Mayfair. Henley blue, a handful shy of 31k miles. It's had a fair bit of work done by the previous owner and it seems to be largely restoration style rather than mods. I don't want to do much - just finish off a few little jobs (there's lining missing from a rear pocket, screw cover missing from one of the wing mirrors, change the cassette deck for something a little more modern) and crochet a big snuggly blanket for the back seat.

Hey, just managed to register, wish I'd done it earlier.

I'm currently restoring a 1972 Mini Cooper S rally car. Just wanted to say a big thank you to John @ J&KSUPPLIES what John doesn't know about Minis isn't worth knowing. Will post some resto pic of my project later. Happy motoring fellow mini addicts.

Hi
I'm signing in from Cape Town.
I drive a 1968 Austin Cooper S Mk 2.
Major problem here is the availability of replacement parts and the concomitant cost of importing them, particularly with the value of the rand!

1971 Mini 850. Body is restored and the mechanical bits and interior are fine but can be tidied with time. It's pleasantly slow.
