Hello everybody,
I 'm Dutch, so please apologize for my mistakes in English language.
If you feel the impulse, to correct my English, than please be my guest.
My MINI was a 1000 HLE from 1985.
After an engine swap it's a 1293 with:
Mahle forged pistons and Goetze pistonrings.
Richard Longman head.
1.5 rockers
Kent 286 camshaft.
2 SU HIF 38 carburettors.
LCB manifold + RC40 exhaust.
MG METRO ventilated discs.
Unfortunately while driving on the German autobahn one of the connecting rods the nuts loosend up.
I think everyone of you can imagine what happened.

I have a 78 Leyland Mini (s) 998cc bought sight unseen from ebay, having loved mini's since I saw the new (then old) Italian Job, and years of youtube videos of races and shows.
The mini was then delivered to SYDNEY NSW from MELBOURNE VIC in Australia.
I am in the process of easing my mind in cleaning up and tidying up as well as "increasing" the safety factor but inspecting everything, and she (who has no name yet) has 4 pot disks with vented and grooved rotors and will have new shoes by the end of the year. Along with the new full size spare that I have recently purchased to replace the original wheel and cross-ply tire that is in the boot (she is currently sitting on 12inch superlites, a change of a previous owner).
She also has minivation bonnet hinges.
The plan for the future is cover the wider stance with clubman flares, and install a "hidden" radio/mp3. and maybe some engine tweeks.
Happy to support tmf hence the +
Nick.

Just updated the daily cars. I have got rid of my R56 petrol One for an 18 month old R56 Cooper D and the good lady has traded in her Coupe Cooper S for a brand new Coupe JCW.
Dont worry, we still have the Cooper SPi
