Hi all just bought a 1980 mini 850 needs restoration as it's been standing in a shed since 1997 it's all there but should keep me busy through the summer ! Just found out that it had a military past !
I live in Kent and was wondering if anyone knew of any good machine shops in my area as the head is running on Leaded fuel at the moment I guess .

Hi guys, i'm new at this Forum.Great stuff you have here.

I've got Innocenti Mini 1300 from 1972 and Rover Cooper MPI from 1998.

Looking for help with my MPI.

Inno is waaaaaay easier to work on.

1998 MPI  has developed a knock when the throttle is opened. This knock sounds harsh and metallic and I can't identify where it is coming from. My guess is from behinde throttle body or from left side, hard to say...

Please, check video at

 and

There is also overheating issue once in a while, and spark plugs are white(running lean) otherwise Mini runs good ;D

Thanx

Tito

Hi I am a new member on the forum. I live in Honefoss not so long from Oslo Norway. I have a big passion for Mini`s. Have now 7.

My normal drive mini is a 1974 Convertible With 1293 compressor. It was in Miniworld in 2010 With the former owner. I also have a 72 Mini 1275 Gt witch will be renovated to original speck. Also have many cars avaiting renovation. 72 Clubman Cab. 1974 Van, 71 Clubman 1000. 1972 Clubman 1000, 72 Clubman GT racecar. I like to travell to Great Britain on Mini Meetings. Going to my Third Imm in Great Britain this year. As i want to go more to Meetings in England, i Wonder if someone can help me. I like to either buy a car in England to use when i am there, or someone cant rent me a classic Mini. I also like to see fotball in Manchester so it have been nice if the car is Close from there. If i buy one you can use it if you take care of it :D .

Take contact if you can help. [email protected]

Hi I am a noobie 😁

I have had my 1988 mini city e for 6 years. ( his name is Freddie) I finally had it resprayed last year and had two white stripes on the bonnet. My next task is to replace the grey grille the bumpers and the trim. Any advice is greatly appreciated as I have not got a clue. I have guessed the grille shape is mk2. The only other question is about the exhaust. Mine is really low and I can not travel over ramps. I have brought this up with our garage but they say there is nothing they can do. Really glad I found this forum! Thanks in advance 😜

I am very lucky as i get to drive these two austin mini van's a 1976 and a 1982. The 1976 mini van is fitted with a metro 1.3 lump and has been operational for most of it's life up till 2010 when the van was restored from Blue into red with a black roof and fitted with the MG metro engine sadly in the past the van had lost its panel sides to have windows and was fitted with flat panel sides. The younger van the 1982 mini van was the property of Ribble Motor services a bus company based in preston after that it was bought from the company by a member of staff and was used up till 1997 when it was decided to restore the van however this didn't happen and it passed through several owners before being restored in 2012/13 it then sat in a garage until it passed into my hands in april of this year.

Both are great fun to drive hope to get them to a few shows and mini runs this year  ;-)  :-)

I just got my first Mini. It's a 1993 Sprite Saloon 1275CC Auto. I'm told automatic minis are rare. I intend to change the engine to a manual to do my driving test as I can't drive yet. Before that I have some serious patching to do and I want to respray it.

I'm stuck for colour though. Old english grey or the old mk1 almond green? The current crimson red could look a lot nicer.
