1990 Mini Mayfair

 

Currently undergoing a full bare metal (chemically dipped) re-build.

 

Planned spec when re-build complete

 

e-coated body shell

Old English white with black gloss roof and wheel arches

1380 Engine - being built by Bill Richards Racing

Maniflow LCB s/steel exhaust

Cream and black leather interior

Twin tanks

13" Super Mini-light wheels

 

The target date for getting the car back on the road - May 2014

 

Below are a couple of pictures of the shell currently (mid-way through the repairs).

 

The chemical dip to remove the paint and rust showed up more rot than I originally thought but at lest I once the re-build is complete I will know that I have a solid, rust free shell.

That is one serious build jig in the picture! i would love one. that shell shouldnt move one tiny bit!

Keep it original!! It'll save you cash and be rarer.

I drive a Mini 25, which I bought earlier this year. She had been stood in a barn since 2000, the previous owner had bought her off a vicar with the intention of banger racing her, thankfully he did not do this, he replaced the rear sub frame and did some mods such as changing the front indicators, which I have changed back to the original ones.

 

I replaced the battery; got the lights working and repaired the alternator, took her for a MOT test and she failed on a tyre being the wrong size and the radius arm needed tightening no bad for a car that had stood for 13 years.

 

She has got Mini 30 wheels which I will keep, I intend to change her bumpers back to grey instead of the chrome one, put the original grill on and the arches back to grey and get her resprayed next year.

I drive Mini Thirty Black and Mini SPi from 1992.Original colour was BRG,at the moment its white.Painted by previous owner.

SPi its under full restoration...Should be ready for L2B 2014 if not IMM 2014.

I drive a 1970 Morris Mini 1000 named Kermit, he's fairly standard except a 1275 engine. I also have a 1986 Mini Park Lane and a 1989 British Racing Green....and possible after this evening some Green thing that's for sale on here.

Mini Mayfair 1988, planning on changing the wheels and adding some bigger wheel arches, I brought it not long ago I've had a lot of other Mini's, I got the Mini Bug :)
