Hi all, this is my 96' Mayfair affectionately named Neville, running a 1275cc SPi engine with just over 80,000 on the clock, and he's still as original as the day he rolled out of the factory (other than his leather interior). My first car and i absolutely love it, to me no other car compares!!!

1996 Kingfisher Blue Sidewalk
Just bought her off Ebay from Rochdale
normal rusty doors and A panels but roof gutters and front scuttle like new.
Interior looks like its hardly been sat in(40,000 mls)
No mods planned just to revive her and return her to standard spec

I drive a Rover mini cooper 1.3 injection in British racing green :) No modifications as present but looking at increasing the power and modifying it. Also restoring the bodywork too as there are some rust problems. If anyone can help me with regards to modification I would appreciate it :)
thanks

I'm just about to take ownership of a new Mini Cooper d.
Ticks all the right boxes for my needs as I trade in my old 3 series bmw touring. (Quite a downsize I know!,)
I'm just gathering ideas right now, I don't foresee any major plans for mods but for sure I'll start with somewhere to mount my iphone 5 and possibly ipad for the toddler In the back.
Can't wait till I pick up the car later this week.

About 2 1/2 years ago I replied to this post with what I wanted to be driving, starting with my son's a rotten bare shell sitting on my front lawn.
I can now finally say "I drive a mini !!!"
Mine started out as a Mini City E 1000, but is now badged as a "Mini Mongrel" with the following basic spec:
Lime green paint work with black trim and highlights.
1330 engine, total rebuild, running:
10:1 comp
Dellorto twin choke 40
Minisport rally single box exhaust with lcb manifold
Cam belt kit (not sure who's as it was an ebay special)
Hand modded 1275 head (standard valves not big)
Piper 266 cam
Aldon e-ignition
Flame thrower coil
Body and interior are:
de-seamed quarters
Solid moulded 2 1/4" wheel arches
GRP bonnet with MINI ONE 'go faster vent'
GRP smooth boot id
Carbon fibre Mk 1 grill,
Angel eye lights
12" Revolution 5 spoke wheel
Heated front and rear screens
Custom GRP dash in faux suade with electronic speedo, taco, ameter, volts, fuel and temperature
Ebay special lime green recliner seats on hand made frames (!)
Suspension is:
HiLos all round,
neg camber fronts
adjustable camber backs
Twin pot alloy brakes on vented disks front
Minifins back
Front subframe fully gussetted and strengthened (in accordance with Vissard "how to mod...')
Stil to do:
Well...loads as I haven't spent much time on the cosmetics yet and I do need to try to reaquaint my self with my family, but the things I have to hand are:
carpets and sound proofing
centre console to hold sound system and satnav stuff
rear pocket liners
rear seats generally
sound proofing,
sound proofing and, oh
sound proofing (its pretty noisy with the exhaust system, so might have to change that.
The only thing I didn't do myself was to replace the exhaust valve seats, which was done by the local engineering company, but everything else is 'all my own work' so I'm chuffed as nuts to be on the road at last and travelling hopefully again.
As a tech delinquent, I only have the one photo Mini pic.jpg 66.04K 4 downloads available on this computer as I can't work out how to download from DropBox but I will try to find some more if anyone's interested?
[I've just realised I haven't actually taken any photos of it finishes as I've been too busy driving it to finish the scrap book so this one is of it nearly done]
Cheers and happy motoring
Ron

I'll try and put some up tonight, it's squeezed in a garage as I learn the joys of rust reparation and general tidying inside and out, the interior is a bit mashed and saggy.
