Hi All ! Just joined this forum, JUST bought my first 'modern' Mini. I've had two 'old 'uns' in the 90's but this is my 1st BMW MINI, I LOVE HER TO DEATH !!!!!. She's a black, convertible Cooper on an 05 plate, 57,000 on the clock and she's the buizzzz !! Heavy clutch but.....cummon ! she's a soft top MINI !!! THE ONLY car you can come out of your front door in the morning and have a smile slapped on yer face just by looking at her :) no other car can compare.

Cheers, hoping we'll have some fun !

i wouldnt rave about the bini too much on here lol. this forum is predominantly for the classic mini.

you'll be hung, drawn and quartered!

Hi, I've just subscribed to this forum and I hope it will be informative and fun. I have -- well, what is it? It's definitely a Mini. It started life as a 1978 Canadian Mini 1000, but very few original parts are left. The bodyshell was replaced with a 1983 British hull imported from the UK. The engine was extensively re-worked and modified. The interior was completely replaced. It is now a kind of road/rallye machine with two racing seats, a full roll cage, a fuel cell, and many other mods. I just drove it on the street for the first time last week, after working on it for two years. I call it "Mini-8" because it is the eighth Mini i have owned: five different classic models, and two BMW moderns. I have a website at www.mini-8.com that gives much more detail.

Of course it's OK :D you have helped keep a Mini on the road whether you did it yourself or paid someone to do it for you

I can't weld or fix gearboxes (however, I did dismantle it under supervision :D ) but I know someone who can & just do simple things myself

it also appears that I'm not very good at adjusting the ride height of my Mini

Hi all, noobie here,

I am new owner of a 1967? mini (according to auction information) -- but it appears to actually be a 1973 Innocenti Export 1001, amaranto color ...

... and I need wiring diagrams.

Let's see if I can do a picture now...

Hey, you may have gotten an unexpected bargain! I think an Innocenti is much rarer, and therefore more valuable, than a standard 67 Mini (if it's not a Cooper). If you try to restore it as an Innocenti, you may end up with a real jewel!

Hi everyone I'm Deve! I have 2 minis a 1974 Black Tulip Clubman 1275gt project (same model that Marc Bolan from the band T-Rex died in which was driven by Gloria Jones in 1977). Link to project page here http://www.theminifo...-tulip-1275-gt/ and my other mini is a 1986 Austin Mini City E in Pink!

Currently rebuilding a 198? mayfair into a road/track day car, so far I've bareshelled, gritblasted and sprayed it old english white with a black roof, also multi point welded in a basic roll cage.

Made my own fibreglass boot skin , and now want fibreglass doors.

Rear end has a Huddersfield MS beam axle with coilovers and minifin drums and is waiting for a KAD antiroll bar.

Front end, fully rose jointed and adjustable everything, coil springs instead of doughnuts, no dampers yet. Subframe gussetted and welded and solid mounted. Metro turbo calipers, drilled, grooved and vented 8.4 discs.

 7x13 starmags.

Engine 1380 (111hp @ FW, 85hp @wheels) measured on R. Gaulds rolling road many moons ago.

Twin 1 3/4 SU's on my own handmade manifold, K+N filters, Aldon Yellow dizzy, 12G940 head, ported and shaped to D vizard spec by me, 10:1 C.R.   Rimflow valves, uprated double springs,  Carbon fibre push rods, 1.5:1 Rockers,  adjustable Belt drive,  kent 286 cam, Std metro turbo crank, lightenend and balanced conrods,  lightened flywheel, AP road/rally clutch,   Maniflow medium bore LCB with enlarged centre pipe, SC/CR gearbox, standard diff and outputs.

All work apart from head skim, rebore and flywheel lightening carried out by me.

Ticks over like a sewing machine and pulls strong from 1500rpm

I've got a 1997 Mini Sportspack in surf blue.  I love it!  I've wanted a mini ever since and now have finally got one.

I've joined the local mini club and look forward to getting involved in some activities!

I am fortunate to have 2 minis one of which is a new John Cooper Works GP2 amazing mini! i also have an '87 mayfair with a 1275 heavilg modded and upgraded. i am planning to sell the mayfair and start a new project soon which i could use some help on. i am wanting to buy a new shell and deop a honda JDM K20A engine into it, im thinking a clubman shape would be the best thing. does anyone have any expericane with dropping these enigines into old minis. i have found a site in which does the subframe for both the rear and the front with engine all built up and ready to drop into place. what im trying to find out is how do i go about putting this onto the road? is it classed as a kit car?? also do i use the normal mini steering columns and steering racks with the honda engine, i also know i have to buy everything for the car, wiring loom, lights etc. i am fairly uneducated when it comes to what is actually needed in the car and what is needed for it to be road legal. can anyone help me with this. i am one of those guys with a lot of ideas and just need some help puttting them all together, any help would be much appreciated.

cheers joe
