Not currently an owner, but I have joined as I am on the lookout. My wife owned a few when she started driving and we had a genuine Rover Mini Cabriolet a few years ago. My son turns 17 next March and I have decided to get a Mini as my wifes car so he can use it also as they are such a low insurance group. I am after a 998 or 850 for insurance reasons. I live near Cambridge and I have discovered that there is a classic Mini dealer in Shelford and they have some tidy looking cars. Anybody used them, or can suggest anywhere else similar?

Hi i have. 1984 austin mini 1000 city E i only just got it but have done a few mods steering column lowering bracket buckets seats which will be fitted after the car has been sprayed and have started to deseam it. Now as for my plans here we go stripped out with full rollcage snapoff steering wheel with a omp 225mm steering wheel the bucket seat (which i will have to have retrimmed as have decided to change the colour i want it sprayed) thats it for interior. exterior ford focus st electric orange paint job carbon fibre bonnet ,roof skin, boot lid, wheel arches and wheels (7by13 inch black carbon fibre deep dish minilites) stainless steel dual exit exhaust made by style dynamics and a extra part that allows me to change the sound of the exhaust brake lights will be a 1 off design on a mini but you will have to wait till they are done to see as it is easier to show than explain the same thing will be done for the front indicators gaz gha coilovers to fit air ride suspension negative cambered wheels and an engine rebuild with a turbo for 998cc engine will convert to unleaded fuel and put twin carbs later i will pick up a metro turbo injection engine and rebuild it put bigger turbo valves pistons forged bottom end but as this will be my first car i decided to wait a couple years to do that to keep insurance down fibre glass front in the front metro turbo 4 pot callipers and the back a rear beam conversion with disc brakes in the back aswell as the front as of current it is a yellow quite rusty car who's current owner was an old lady who only did 100 miles per year from 2005 to 2009 at which point it got put in a car park and left to rot it was sitting for 4 years until we found an owner luckily she was not and enthusiast who knew how much she could sell minis for so we gave £200 and it has 58000 miles on the clock i'm the third owner on the car ad cant wait to be driving it.

This is my first ever mini, called Jasper, he was acquired with the intention of installing a photo booth system inside, ( we already have them in London taxi cabs, camper vans and an Only Fools and Horses 3 wheel van). Trouble is everyone in the firm love him so much there is arguments over who gets to use him as personal transport when he isn't being operated as a photo booth.

He's a limited edition Racing Green model with a standard 998cc engine (stage 1 kit fitted), leather interior from a later Cooper and an Italian Job light bar. Next step is the installation of a coil spring conversion to stop fillings being rattled loose every time you hit a cats eye  :D

Hiya, I have a mini cooper 1.3i, he is my daily drive and he is awesome. He needs new seats as the lad before me put ones in that are too big, going to put in black leather mini bucket style seats. He needs a few other styling bits changed so he is how I want him looking. I've got to get him sprayed too once I can decide on the colour, he is in burnt orange primer at the mo, that's how I got him. Just looking forward to getting him sorted so I can enjoy him even more.

Hi, I have just picked up a 1966 Morris Mini styled to look like an S. Looks very convincing from the outside but there are a few obvious give aways. But the mini has been turned into a complete road racer! Bucket seats, roll cage, perspect windows, and a stripped intererior. The engine, originally 850cc has been bored out to 1340cc so goes like the clappers. Is a fantastic car to drive, just like a race car. I want to get this car in mint condition with a fully kitted out race style interior. A lot of wiring issues though, not going to be the easiest thing to sort.

Since yesterday :shy: I drive a diamond-white 1996 Mini Sprite 1.3i in very "original" state (no modifications apart from changing the RHD to LHD >_<, no major bodywork done so far, very little first rust) - an I am sooooo proud of it!!
