Don't have one yet I don't have the room until we move house hopefully in the next 12 months but have just purchased a totally complete with everything still attached 1275 from a 1990 Metro, which I'm going to rebuild. My first car was a brand new 1982 1000HL in cinnabar red purchased from Colliers up the Warwick Road in Tyseley, B'ham. Cost me £2999 on the road (My Dad also had a 'K' reg 850 in Harvest Gold from new which he paid around £397) Part exed it for a Fiesta a couple of years later and wish I never had, always wanted another ever since.

My plans well just to have a nice motor at the end of it I do prefer the retro look such as early Cooper S with the 9 hole reverse rim steel wheels, I like the classic Mini Cooper red the proper name eludes me at the moment my Daughter prefers Almond Green so we will have to see what happens. Performance at any cost is not my priority and reliability is paramount something around 80bhp will do me fine which I don't think will be difficult to achieve considering the one I'm rebuild started with 63bhp.

I had to take drastic action to fix the problem
I removed the access panel , then drill out the latch from behind , using a spot weld drill bit.
On inspection , once open , the mechanism had broken . The small spring that returns the paddle operated by depressing the door push button had broken.
This meant the paddle mechanism jumped over the stud that it moves as it pivots . This resulted in total lock down .
New second hand mechanism in , thanks to Berkshire Mini Centre nr Reading . Plus a new slam panel later & hey presto ;))))

Hi :)

Im really new to these forums, so ill make this my first post. I am 16 (17 next year) and I have always loved classic mini's. Recently in the last month my parents have bought me a 2001 (reg) mini cooper sport. It has a plaque on it that states its one of the last 500 ever made of the Sir Alec Issigonis design. I can't wait to start driving it next year. Not keen on doing any major mod's to it because I think the last mini coopers are perfect the way they are :)

Hey !

My daily driver is a '94 British Open, 1275 with carb'.
It was daddy's car before he passed away, so I keep it stock and clean !

I'm looking for an other mini, cheap, with work to do... Coming "soon" I hope.

Hello!

I drive a 1989 Mayfair with a stock 1000cc engine.

No mods as of yet but I plan to put some 12" slots on, wood and pickett type 2 racing arches and a stage one kit with a centre exit exhaust :)

New to owning a mini.

I have had my 1990 Mayfair for 2 years now and it has undergone a lot of modifcation/restoration.

the front was rotten so I picked up a replacement front end.

It is a full steel clubman flip front.

When finished the mini will be a clubman lookalike with retro styling. apart from the wide arches :P

Looking at putting 12x6" deep dish superlight wheels on it.

what do you all think?
