Hi all. I have a humble Mini Advantage 998cc born in 1987. Imhave had it for 6 months and I love working on it. I try to drive it a much as I can, but it is not a main car. It is a hobby car. Since getting it I have no plans to mod it beyond what is standard to the car. I'm not keen on changing it too much, just making it as good as new. i have added an internal bonnet release and rear inertia seat belts which are not standard though. I have overhauled the whole of the cooling system and just changed the engine mounts, which was a pig of a job. I also had some fun replacing the speedo cable, which I broke changing a bulb in the instrument pannel Currently I am working my way across the engine bay, cleaning and renewing as I go. The next job is changing the front cones and addind a hi lo kit. The list of jobs to do is endless really, but that is how I want it. I will be a sad day when it is 'finished'. So hi to all other mini lovers.

I have a 1981 mini city 1275 in neatilus blue Which I had for my 14th birthday of my dad and restored in my six week holiday I am saving up to change the engine to a 1380 and eventually add a super or turbo charger and at the moment it has a straight through centre exit race exhaust hopefully to get a stainless Longlife exhaust soon enough. It's fully painted and restored I'm just upgrading it bit by bit through the year. Ready for all the shows now

automatic mini mayfair
sportex centre exit piper cross air filter cooper grill and bullet mirrors thats about it lol

Snap!
Automatic Mini Mayfair,
Got the grill same as you, no exhaust/filter mods.

Planning on installing some leather ( more likely vinyl on my budget) off white seats piped in a blue , and maybe switching out the carpet to match that.
It's clean as a whistle under the bonnet and low mileage so I'm not messing with the engine except maybe to paint it.

I have had 27 minis to date, ranging from a 1959 850 to my latest BMW Countryman. Of course I have a "real Mini" too. It's a 2001 JCW Cooper Sport. My favourite was the 1970 Morris Cooper S Mk2. ODL650H. If you recognise this car, you maybe have seen it in John Cooper's Works on Ferring. Four kids at the time made it impossible or me to hang on to it so i very reluctantly sold it. It was practically perfect all the time i had it but when John bought it, he had it completely restored. His son Mike now owns it.

I have restored quite a few over the last 40 years or so, but this very late JCW will probably be my last as I am not as agile as I was. Being one of the last, it has suffered the rust bug that so many of the last ones had. Apparently they were left outside in primer until sold where they were poorly painted over the already rusty panels. It's quite obvious when you look at if as the rust is in places you would not normally expect. Sad really for such an iconic car, but I acquired it at a good price so done funds left for all genuine panels and a decent mechanical rebuild and respray.

Last year I bought this mini cooper 1991 (J reg). Currently, started getting the bodywork done and I'm planning to update it afterwards. I was told that it's a RSP cooper but is there any way I can confirm that?

Basically, it's a 1.3L carb model and the date of first registration is 14/10/1991

I drive a 79 South African built Clubman 1275GTS, which has had her heart modded to a 1293 race spec motor, not much more that can be done to her for now, but you never really know. ;-)

I drive 1992 Rover Mini 1.3SPi.
Motor is nearly stock, LCB exhaust manifold and 2" centre exhaust with two silencers. Suspension is modified with Hilos adjustable cones. Interior is nearly original, JVC 1-din radio/dvd player unit, 5 -channel 3 -way amplifier, 1 F condenser, 6,5" and 5,25" 2 -way component speakers with two 10" subwoofers. Sound its just fine in Mini. Body modifications are sportpack wheel arches and 13x7" -7 ET wheels with 175/55/13 tyres. X-grooved & drilled brake discs is ordered to front. Color is White and Black roof with wheel arches. I think this project wont never be ready, but might come better story with pics to forum some day.
