Hi, I'm Youri and I'm from Holland. I drive a Cooper SPI from '94 since three or four years. Before that I drove a Cooper carb from '91. Both had no real modifications.

Hi we have just bought a new project as detailed bellow:

British Leyland 1978 Clubman Saloon. 81,185 miles. Mechanically Sound but extremely rusty and requires lots of body work including front wings, sills, rear inner arches, rear corners and rear valence.
The family resto project begins... oh and she an Automatic!!!

In addition she is completely original. even has the original windscreen still. But boy does she need some work. All advise greatly appreciated.

Don't drive one yet, but all being well, will be picking up "Gail" (1993 1.3 Auto Mini Mayfair) on Saturday (she was named before our first date!). I first set eyes on her last Tuesday when there wasn't much to do in the gardens due to heavy frost and it was love at first sight. I kept returning to Autotrader, checking out her friends, but eventually plucked up the courage and arranged to meet her last weekend!

She is completely impractical (couldn't get a lawnmower in that boot!), has some major (?) rust along passenger sill and in footwell along with some of the usual "bubbling around headlights, windscreen, etc", feels like my backside is barely off the ground (I usually drive Vauxhall Vivaro or Freelander (MkI)), the "You're Only Supposed To Blow The Bloody Doors Off" sticker can only be read from inside (or in rear view mirror) and I couldn't get radio working. However, she appears to be very much in virginal state and I am very much looking forward to riding her!?!?

I have very little mechanical knowledge (I WILL be back!) or NEED for another car, but she is coming to a loving family and I look forward to sharing her with you all (well, photos and tales of our adventures - KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF!)

Photos to follow.
