I have a mini equinox 1996 (P) no mods whatsoever and in pretty decent condition.
Battery runs flat every so often, probably due to short journeys.
Leaks like a trooper, still unsure from where.
Heating matrix started leaking the other day.

Needless to say, I LOVE my mini :0)

Hey all, this is my third time around owning a Mini. The first one, was my first car, a 1969 running on widened steelies and a 1300cc lump, twin carbs, massive exhaust, 96db stereo that was loud enough to blow the back windows open.

The second was a 71 Clubbie, called "project lemon" as it was yellow and rusty as an old tin can. Needless to say "project lemon" was a huge flop. Now 20 years after the first Mini experience I am back in.

This one is a one lady owner from new - 1981 Layland Mini City 1000, sold new in NZ, done 104K always garaged and serviced. Came with all records, including original sale agreement and manual. It is in great shape for a long term project, I paid a mint for it but Im happy (it has NO rust, none at all)
Photos - http://lukegoleman.blogspot.co.nz

Now here are the plans...I know.... not very original but I love the look.
Body - 13x7's, original Sportpack arches, super fin/spaced drums (front and rear), hi-lo's, coil springs, gas shocks, tie rods, negative camber front and rear etc etc. Paint will stay as is just get shinier :D and lots of new chrome bits.

Lump - 1300cc reconditioned head, extractors and alloy inlet, reconditioned carb and high flow filter. A general tidy up.

Interior - Factory. All I did is line the floor with insulation/sound deadening.

Cheers

Air

Hi I have a 1993 Mini Mayfair in Nightfire Red.

I haven't done alot to it as yet, just changed the door handles and put a new stereo in it. I bought it 10 years ago but have lived in London so not used it so much. Still only 44 000 on the clock :mrcool:

I'm having problems with the electrics, is there anything that can stop the constant pain of changing/clipping fuses back into place?

updated pics as i've added some trim to the roof, gb badge, new number plates and bullet door mirrors

Hi, I'm a newbie on here, so thought I'd introduce "Charlie".

He is a 1986 Austin Mayfair, with all the mods you can see plus a Stage One modification and all the usual racing pedals, bodykit, angel eye lights, foggies, alloys etc.

(PS, How the hell do I load a picture!!?!)

My son Phil & I have recently bought a 1979 Clubman. It has a 1293 Steve Harris engine running (IIRC) a 276 cam & single 45DCOE, stage 2 head, with dyno sheets showing 99.1 brake at 6300rpm.It has an electronic distributor, 8mm silicon plug leads & a Facet fuel pump with a King pressure regulator. It is supposed to have straight cut drop gears, but I'm not so sure it does. Fully stripped interior with a full Safety Devices cage, OMP seats, TRS harnesses & the battery behind the drivers seat in a composite box. All lines inside. Sumpguard. Perspex windows all round except for a laminated front screen. Front suspension is adjustable coil overs, rear is hi-lo with adjustable gaz shocks.Uprated front discs with minifins on the rear. It's had a fair bit of 'restoration' (i.e. lots of plates welded everywhere!) & it seems (hopefully) fairly solid. It also has a 'custom made' MDF (!) dashboard with an instrument cluster housed in a piece of plywood that had been glued to the MDF!! We found that out trying to remove the tach which stopped working last week!! A newly engineered dash is first on the list of jobs to do!! However it's a 33 year old competition car so things like that can be expected! And we really do love driving it, its heaps of fun!
