I bought a 1992 Cooper SPi last may as I never owened a MIni when i was young and "everyone should own a mini once in their life"

I've spent the winter replacing brakes and rebuilding hubs. Right now i'd be happy if it would pass the MOT! It was running rich when i bought it but I found a pipe on the inlet manifold with a broken elbow. That seemed to make it run better but it's just failed the MOT on emissions - BIG time!

Still, I bought it to learn about Mini's and that's what i'll have to do - hence the forum.

I have a 1978 mini 1000, rally history of some sort, (we know it was rallied)

Interior is non standard, as it was replaced instead of the rally equipment when it was retired to road use.

Engine has oil cooler and twin su's. Other modification have not been noticed yet.

I plan to change the interior to something more priod. possibly make it a rally replica.

Tom

Have a 1980 mini 1000 all original, no mods as yet but any mods will be out of site as want to keep it looking as it was made, even the brown interior. First things first new seals in the brake master cylinder so it will stop.Attached File  Picture 407.jpg   375.24K   12 downloadsAttached File  Picture 408.jpg   723.36K   2 downloadsAttached File  front.JPG   413.64K   8 downloadsAttached File  .back.JPG   342.77K   7 downloads

I work for Mini, so am currently driving an R58 - the new Coupe Cooper, but am in the final stages of restoring a barn find 65 Cooper S.

The S will purely be a weekend toy, fitted a cage and intend using it for Sprint's and Hill Climbs.

Aiming to get it finished for Combe this September :-)

Just imported a UK '97 Mini Cooper, MPi into Canada. The RHD is something different here. I have started to take an inventory of what needs to be done.

(I started on this forum on the 15th April. Had to start again, damn hackers, thanks Admin)

This is Birdmans not sure if it's a 78 or 80 Mini, that he's rebuilt for auto crossing and it's known as the lunatic. He's put a Jack on the roof since this picture was taken

I am new to this, just turned 17 and got myself a Mini City E 998 '88. Looks really nice, has a solid shell and that was really what I was looking for :D Right now I'm in the stage of getting it through an MOT, booked in for tomorrow! Don't know how to get pictures on here though, copied and pasted but not working?
