Hi folks.

I have an Austin Maxi powered mini sprite"Patch" languishing to be completed.

Engine:

1750cc maxi ohc 8v high compression/long stroke.
Twin Weber DCNF40 downdraft carbs(rejetted) breathing through plenum chamber and freeflow filter.
MG Maestro cam and ported heat.
Straight through exhaust system with 4 inch s/s back box.

D/train

BMC Maxi 5 speed with modified and reinforced driveshafts(thickened/ equal length)
Lightened and stiffened borg and beck clutch assembly with 13 row oil cooler.
Metric wheel PCD conversion.

Body

Steel flip front with silhouette style stand off 50mm air gap(to clear engine assembly and promote cooling).
Reinforced and hybridised front subframe with bulkhead stiffener and exhaust tunnel.
Rear subframe mounted remote radiator with integral cooling fan and boot mounted 75 Ah battery(for starting lump).
Group 7 Arches with Renault 18 pepper pot alloys(circa 1970s).

Brakes

Front solid Metro discs with 4 pot calipers.
Rear solid disc with split 4 pot calipers(separate hydraulic h/brake).

Suspension

Front/rear are adjustable(bespoke)
Dampers( standard)

Interior:

Must get my finger out because I haven't finished this yet!

Body:

Diamond white paint with black roof and GRP boot.

Completion date:

God only knows, but I think it could be some time!

Ps it's called Patch because at the last count it had 200 new/replacement components/panels installed(typical mini).

Hi,

I have a GTM Coupe fitted with a Honda twin cam engine. It is a race car only and I compete mainly in sprints and occasionally in hill climbs.

Regards

David
