Took me 5 years to restore and complete the engine transplant but it was well worth the wait!

Yours will be mental !, you are going to need lots of sound deadening , I cant wait to hear it , I should be able to from North Wales !

Recently bought, advertised as a Mini Special and has the label on the back but....
Log book shows built in Belgium in 1977 (chassis plate does have a 'B' at the end).
Right hand drive.
First registered in UK 1981 (on W plate)
Has black plastic wheel arch extenders and screwholes appear professionally drilled/positioned i.e. they all line up.
Has a gold seal engine apparently 1098. (Can I check this?)
Is silver, may have had a respray but door shuts, under seat and other not easily sprayed areas are all silver.
Has a pony checkboard pattern on roof. Obviously home painted and very thin. Could it have been done after removal of vinyl?
On the plus side-
Waxoyled throughout so doors are good, no rot at all in rear pockets. In fact rear end in remarkably good condition. Front wings, inner wings, A panels and front floor all holed - currently being replaced.
Detail-
Rectangular washer bottle mounted on O/S inner wing.
No servo.
Has speedo, oil pressure and water temp gauges centrally mounted.
Walnut/wood effect dashboard across whole parcel shelf.
Non-servo brakes.
Black 'velor' seats (attacked by mice by the looks of them.)
Does not have factory fitted radio.
Has fog light at rear (looks pucca) and two at the front.
Whoever had it before obviously took the opportunity, when replacing the engine, to hand paint the bulkhead (not very well) and mess with the wiring adding 2 big horns and possibly front fog lights, although they appear to be on correct mini mountings.
I've looked at pictures till they blur into one but can't find my car. Also searched chassis number across net but can't find much info relating to Belgian built cars.
Any help would be appreciated. Will upload some photos when I get her back from the shop.
