Hi all,

I've owned and driven mini's since I was 16 years old (20 years ago now) and i've owned around 10 diffrent minis in that time.
My current cars are a 1966 Mini Deluxe (Called Avril) and a 2007 MINI Cooper S (Called Helen)





Avril currently has the engine out as i'm building a Hot 1014cc 60s Cooper engine while Helen gets me to work to pay for the parts.

I'm driving a 1981 Austin Mini 1000 HL, which has had some problems but drives good most of the time. Should give the body some attention as soon as possible..

[italian job andy]

Hello,
Have read lots of great information on here so decided to actually sign up and make myself known.
I own an italian job that is in need of some love and care.
When I bought it I had obviously gone to see a few, I started off looking at the cheap ones but decided that they were just rot boxes so set my price slightly higher, after watching programs like wheeler dealers thought I would also try my luck at haggling, I have always been crap at haggling and was always worried that if i started arguing about the price the bloke selling it would tell me to buggar off or worse still say he does not want to sell it to me.
Anyway I looked at a few that had been recently done up, found a couple of faults on the car offered much less than the guy wanted and actually did get some positive results.
I managed to talk myself out of that deal as thought it sounded dodgey ?
Ended up buying the italian job that was far worse than the other cars I had looked at and was more money in a colour that I did not want, and to top it off it has a badly dented roof where kids had jumped on it !!!!!!!!!
I spent the first 2 days welding repair sections into the floor. I had noticed that the carpets were wet but did not inspect any further ( 1st dumb mistake ) the front wheel bearings were screaming so changed those, have now done the rears as i put extended studs on rear hub to make my wheels fill the arches.
went to paint the boot with hamerite after noticing some rust bubbles, ended up cutting out rust and welding in a patch, i swear that car rusts while i look at it.
still i love that car and enjoy driving it more than anything i have owned previously.
But think the car does not feel the same way about me !!!!!!
