Couldn't do a huge amount today,
so we put the manifolds on and have worked out how we are going to do the mounts,
we ordered some metal so when that turns up we can crack on with the mounts (hopefully tomorrow).

So things are going steady would rather we had everything now and over night the mini fairys could come out and finish it lol. We've had no major problems and things seem to be running smoothly so far! touch wood :D lol.

Still waiting for metal but now that will be mon/tue,
so we have to busy ourselves with starting on the other bits that dont require the engine to be fixed in place.

So today we mounted the radiator and started to do the clutch cable (just needs some holes drilling).
Also we have been thinking about a few other bits and planning on what to do with them, ready for when we get around to doing them.

Its still 1.3l but its 16v, and 100hp standard, also its probably one of the easier DOHC engines to fit in a standard length round nose.
Have you seen the MiniFilms video with the swift powered mini?

no i havent.

why exactly is it an easier conversion to do. are you saying this because its a smaller engine and gearbox to fit, or because it is straight forward and parts are readily available?

quick question - what are you doing about driveshafts?

easier because its not as tall or as big (as its only 1.3 rather than 1.6 or 2.0) and its often the height of the block combined with the wider DOHC head that makes it stick out of a standard round nose bonnet.
