Ace project, i'm inspired! ^_^

I'm now more than likely going to have a Swift engine in the mini by the end of the year.. :(

All I gotta do is find an engine, save up and find someone who is willing to carry out the work..

I also need to know what parts are needed to make the job complete.. Ideally I want all the parts together before my 998 is out the car..

Pandora, is it possible to get a parts list drawn up from your experiences?.. If not, don't worry :)

I know these two have bought engines and parts, but I would say that buying a whole running car is your best bet.

Then you have pretty much all you need. It's what I have done, and I cant think of anything else I'll need for the conversion (yet).

Yeah if you have the space (we dont) then getting the whole car is best!! and what you dont need or use you can sell and depending on the original purchase price of the car you can sometimes make some money from it and end up with your bits for free (but as i said it does depend on the donor car).

I got engine/box and wiring loom, drive shafts, gear selector. exhaust manifold, basically all engine equipment and running gear for £300. You should get it for the same price, or around that price.

Ahh right, nice one.. Cheers fellas :)

Well, at the moment i'm sourcing a few engines from various breakers yards etc and it seems most are priced in the £200 range..

But, I am also going to try and find a donor car.. Like I said, I should have it done by the end of the year, because at the moment funds are low. But, come summer I shall have enough to start work :(

Have any of you been in a Swift Gti before they got broken for their engines or whatever?

I am seriously impressed and a tad scared about putting it in a mini!
