Heres my dads z cars mini, he was one of chris's early customers,he did the spray job himself and he built it before the instrutional dvd came out.

He painted it in the new bmw mini colours with black pillars.

im fitting a collapsable boss, some of the steering wheel suppliers have them

So its going for a standard sva and you dont need to change the colum. I have been thinking with them being registerd new its a esva. I have never registered a new car only bikes with eec leter of conformaty.

Has your dad still got the mini, looks good what year was it built.

yeah standard sva , comes under catergory A and C

A= kit built vehicle
c= Amateur built

Yea i have heard lots of people saying you need a collapsible steering colum on various forums. But if its like you say amature built , where are you going to get a steering report. I'm pleased thats sorted.

Are you going to have the car more road going with sound proofing or just the basics.

not decided yet....

im looking at some 8x13 wheels from huddersfield, not sure weather they would be suitable for a z cars or not

i may use a fiesta column like chris has because it has type approval

The r1 handles nice with the 7 x 13s on the road. i think any bigger on the road due to camber they tend to tram line on public roads. Unless you put the 8s on the back only. Mind you i have never had a problem with traction.
