how nice of all to say hi!
i have found the mini, just need to sell my mazda to pay for it, its a 1.3 mini sprite on an M plate, has been used by a lady for delivering cakes (!!!) has a rusty bootlid, not managed to have a good look round it but it seems well looked after
the plan is rally theme... 2 seats, 4 point belts, stripped out, custom dash, not sure about engine, i have big dreams of VTEC for the noise and sheer power, but the weight is a lil bit of a worry!
thanks for a great welcome!

heh, yer rally in general has been a love for my father before i was born and me since i was born, so its in me blood!!Sounds like a great plan, rally minis are cool.
i have some wiked ideas for door cards and interior bits, not too sure what to do with the shell, will decide that when i have some cash for things like resprays!! but while were ont hat matter, black with metal flake and silver cooper stripes and roof!

how far have you got with your rally mini?

Don't worry about weight, the all alloy V-Tec weighs less than the cast iron 1275 A-series. The 850 A-series was quite light, but the 1275 is fairly lumpy. Even the Rover V8 is lighter. Mini's can take a lot of engine weight because the wheels are so far forward. I have seen cars with big Yank cast iron V8s in.
There are at least two companies selling conversion kits for V-Tecs, and one for the 16v 2 litre Vauxhall. They're all talked about on here in various places, have a look around.
