it sounds like your engine is well thought out do you have any ideas what it should rev to and more importantly what revs it'l make power at?
keep up the hard work...

No idea, and i dont really want to speculate either. Just ave to wait and see Powers just pub talk... as you say, its all about where the torques gonna be and the revs it'll pull, which is hard to predict...

I don't know if you're still using your lightened flywheel (sorry if i missed the change of set up) but can you tell us a bit more about the experience and final weight? I'm thinkinbg about having mine done since the actually light flywheels are hard to find here and expensive to bring from the states.
Cheers.

Do you mean the verto one which i had lightened?
It would be hard for me to compare to be perfectly honest, i did the fly at the same time i did everything else so ave no real experience of before and after. However i'm sure it helped. Theres a calculation somewhere that gives you an idea of what it'll be like. It equates the amount taken off the flywheel as a rotating mass, to how much lighter the car will feel when accelerating.
If you mean my ultralight pre-verto steel one, then i havn't tried that so i dunno either, soz.

(It's you pic and no I'm not planning to steal it lol)
Are you gonna run this one or are you getting the more sophisticated ultralight one?
I'd be thankful if you can point out where to find this calc table to get a rough idea
Thanks man.

why does your profile still say "Engine: Its a secret " when its not really? Is there some sudden change of heart like your fed up of the 1071 and you couldn't think of anything better than a 1098:P
i dunno really just put it ther as somthing random clearly my engine is not a secret

I've been speaking to Peter Barker recently (chap who writes about all the historic rally stuff in MiniWorld) because i found out the other day that has an SW10 in his 1071 rally car 977 ARX. Pete just so happens to be the admissions tutor for my course at uni, so i sent an email asking him various questions (i could have gone into his office, but that would have involved walking ) So anyways.. he's been nice enough to bring in his power graphs from when he had it RR'd so i can go and see them tomorrow
So i'll take a pic of it and tomorrow we shud have an idea of what sort of power and torque it will make.
His cars spec is very similar to mine, tho he cannot remember the exact spec of the head, so we don't know what size the valves are. Apart from that its exactly the same the only exception being i have 1.5 ratio rockers, so mine may be a bit more pokey.
Anyways... all i know so far is his engine made 105bhp@7000rpm!!!!!!!! at SMMC's roller i assume because they do all his engine work.
