just a thought you can pick up universal exhaust cans with removable baffles so you could have the best of both worlds normally only a 10mm bolt to remove the baffle in the end might help with noise for track days and the like...

i can do you a proper insert for the can mate as i built it just let me know if you have probs

I will definately take you up on that. Can I just take the end off, slide your insert in and rivet the end back on?

Right, now it's not fricking freezing outside, I'm back in the garage!!!!!! I have now completely finished the bottom half of bulkhead and bolted everything up to it. Top half needs completely re-making tho as it leaves lots of gaps -around where the front legs bolt on and the bottom corners stop too short now because of my custom lower side pieces.

Also put some very good heat and sound deadening around the exhaust section only

you dont have to take it off no , you just drill a 5.5 hole in the underside of the spout ( outlet ) then slide the mhp insert in an use a 5mm bolt supliyed to fix it in .
you can then take it out if you want to in about 2 mins no worrys .

Right, finally had a good few clear days to dent the wiring on the car and have striped out loads more old *poop poop*. I've got almost everything working now apart from a couple of silly little issues. I bought awiring module to make life easier...
Posted Image
...but I've had a couple of head scratchers with it, and the one that puzzles me is - i can't get and voltage to come out the rad fan terminal, but I'll just have to bypass the wiring module for that as I'm tired of fanying around with it.
Painted my dash, after rellocating the digi dash bit. I bolted a seat in and sat in it with all instruments in place and realised that I couldn't actually see it past the top of the steering wheel. Doh! Any way, good old black emulsion has come up trumps again:

Fitted my old high level rear brake light amongst other little bits
Posted Image
Made a start at glassing in the number plate recess I made:

...but ran out of grp matt, and notice where I went a bit ott with the sander in the bottom right hand corner. Oops, that'll need a quick fix when I get more matt.

Also had smartuki send me one of his adjustable exhaust baffles:

the baffled end has got a little retaining bolt, which you can undo and slide the perferated end up or down to control airflow/ noise levels. A neat bit of kit so I don't get booted off track days. Just drill a hole in end can and fit. Simples!

Quick update:
Everything is wired now and works, apart from oil level light and neutral light. Possibly need the to get an R1 oil light and neutral light relay? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Also wiring diagram shows neutral light feeding in tho ignition control box, So I need to figure out if I need to do that too?
Actually - also need to wire in number plate recess lights once I've glassed it in properly.

Might wire the reverse through a switch on the dash too, so I can't hit the foot button by accident whislt driving. I'd like to wire it through a relay to the neutral light so It can only be activated when in neutral, but not 100% sure how to go about that yet.
