Finnished my throttle pedal return. Had to reposition my ally throttle pedal extension higher up, to get more pedal movement in order to get wide open throttle.

Then took a look at my cheapo carbon doors, one is totally f**ked but it will be right as rain when I'm done.

I had to fit the perspex windows that came with them in order to have a guide to where to put the broken bits. Got it bang on I think.

GRP'd it to fix position. Just waiting for it to dry, then I can remove the window and fix it from the underside too.

Made Up the bracket for my reverse button too. Used Riv nuts again so I can just pop a bolt through the hole and not worry about getting a spanner on the other end.

I've been filling all the surplus holes in the bulkhead too. Needs a sand and I'll crack out the black emulsion again. Then the whole front end can be put back together, ready for some fuel and i'll turn the key and hope to start the engine!!!!

Bought them like it. £150 for the doors and a full set of perspex. Only need the fronts but will be good to have a standard size rears as an option for the future.

That a very good price, where you find them?

what are the rear windows like? if you fancy selling them how much you looking for? are the rear sides bolt in and the rear window fits in the rubber seal?

The Perspex Rears are direct replacement for glass items. Gonna keep hold of them, because after the summer, the next stage is to make the whole rear end removeable and hinged at the roof, so then I won't need the bolt in perspex jobbies I made.

fair enough, lol the removable rear sounds a bit fancy, how you planning on making it all fit back together though? Would you be having the roof B & C pillars and just below the glass removable or will you be taking more off than that?

because if that is what you are planning iv been thinking of doing that to a different mini when i get round to doing another project. I have found some pics of one mini that has had this done, the whole roof comes off along with the B & C pillares and just below the windows, that was made out of fiberglass. I dont think i have the pics anymore though as my laptop crashed and i lost everything....

Sounds like it will be nice though and will give you alot more space to work on the engine.

You'll have to wait and see, but it's a long way off yet.

Stripped out the front bulkead after finnishing the repairs and filling all surplus holes, and then sanded it all down. - Horrible job, fibreglass dust is nasty!
Posted Image
and got the first coat of black emulsion on it
Posted Image
also striped and repainted the bracket under the master cylinders so it wouldn't look out of place amongst all the new bits.
