I went to Stanford Mini show..... NOT!

Drove it to Shifty's, pulled into his drive..... just about to set off for Stanford I thought, hmmm, I'll adjust that clutch cable up a bit. So I adjusted it up, tried it. THUNK. Ooopsies.

Converting it to hydraulic now, hoping to get it done for Combe, but we'll see.

Anyway, I'm not sure how much of a bodge this is, but it worked really well.... pics:


Only thing I need to do now is add a better rubber spacer (instead of the two grommets I used just to fit and test it), but to be honest that's only there to give the cylinder a little flex. Over winter, I'll be changing the box for something different anyway, so this is only a temporary fix, I'll go with a concentric slave instead on the next box.

Didn't even make a mount for it, just popped it in the top of the box where the cable should rest/pull against. Instant result, well happy!

Its funny as the gearing seems pretty good when your watching it? I think you done well there mate considering its sitting on 10's

to be honest, in an ideal world I would like first gear to be longer. I feel like 5th is about right though. Iirc 85mph is about 4000rpm ish?
Dunno. Maybe just switching from a 3.55:1 FD ratio to around a 3.3-3.4 would do it. Just not sure what standard diff options are out there. I would love a Quaiffe ATB diff in there....and a 6 speed box....and a decent clutch.....but better brakes is first on the list abduction if I have to go for bigger disks, meaning bigger rims, I'll have to think about FD ratios again......
In short, yep it's OK. But not perfect.
