That's not gone well!
300 mile round trip, got the fuel tank home..............
Connected the spade terminals up on the top of the fuel pump plate, no fuel pump noise.
Took the fuel pump plate off, no frikking fuel pump in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dunno what to do now, spent £40 on fuel, drove for 6 hours, but still don't have a 'solution' for the fuelling. I'm tempted to use an inline pump now and just use the MPi tank's supply and return lines.

That's a f*cker. Good job you checked it before you took off homewards.

Instead of fannying around trying to find a pump for the tank (which are a pain in the bot-bot anyway), I reckon you should just go for an in-line. Simplerererer, isn't it?

Nah, I'll sort it, the guy's proper apologetic, he did say it was all there and all working, so he's going to check in his workshop tomorrow and get back to me. Just can't believe it's happened to me, typical I guess.
Worst case scenario, I use a Rover 216 one off ebay, they're going for around £20 and will do the job exactly the same as the genuine MPi one. At least I can fit the tank and plumb it all in. Just desperately searching for a second hand pump at the moment, but there's no mini ones around by the look of things.

Well, if you take a pair of pliers and a 10mm spanner, you can whip the one off Matilda, OK?
But then we won't have a working car for Germany, Matt.

When Matilda's went bang last year I found it was quite difficult to get 'em 2nd hand. I fink it's because they tend to go bang quite regly-like. Go Rover.

go down the scrappy, find a vauxhall, get the internal fuel pump out of it and shove it in the tank on a bracket. easiest way. If not you need to get into the realms of an initial low pressure high volume fuel pump, swirl tank, high pressure pump. The regulator isnt a worry if its on standard injection as its on the end of the vaux fuel rail.
then again... if you spend all the money on a fuel injection pump setup and you eventually want to go to R1 carbs... lol.
yer, scrappy, i just ran my 8v of a internal pump in an MPi tank.
lol, sorry about the babbling! tired after smd, hope it helps :S

So, I reckon, rev up to 3000rpm then sidestep the clutch, change up at 6750rpm? Yeah?
