First, I did some work on my Mini, as people who know me will tell you, that is VERY weird!
Second, I have made some decisions about specification!
I am going to be ordering a Megajolt Light JR ignition kit from AlexF2003. I have got all of the EDIS kit sorted, read up on the advantages, how it works, how to fit it.............
So, when I get back from Bingley, I will be ordering that kit. I will be using the MAP sensor kit, rather than TPS. This measures manifold absolute pressure to determine engine load, there is a VR pickup attached to the block near the crank puilley, which has to be modified to have 35 grooves in it (a 36-1 pattern). So, I will have mappable distributorless igntion for not much more than the cost of a decent modded dizzy and performance coil!
I am also going to Sale, Manchester tomorrow to pick up these temporary wheels:

Which means that these had to come off:

I will be running Minisport or Minispares alloy 4 pots on 7.5" disc setup to suit 10" wheels. I will eventualy be going for the MB split rim 6 or 7 x 10's from Force racing, but I need to save up a bit first.
I also took the seats out:

and put a single Cobra Classic in there, but I have to say it's nowhere near as comfortable as the Corbeau Forza 2K's that I have taken out. But the decision is made, they're sold so it's tough! I just need to play around with the seat position and make the best out of it that I can. It suits the car better too, I think proper bucket seats look too big and out of place, especially in an older mini.
I have to say that this mini is in surprisingly good condition for a 35 year old one. The flitch panels are OK, the floor is OK (but it's already been repaired) the wings are OK, the whole thing is pretty solid and rust free, but then again, that was the advantage of buying an MOT'd car. I was expecting to find some rust under the scuttle closing panel, as they're buggers for rotting there, but it's really spot on! Sooo happy with it.
Currently (well after Bingley) the car will owe me practically nothing, so I can afford to splash out. I am trying to stay sensible with the project though, which is why I am doing it bit by bit, rather than stripping it down to a bare shell, then doing a full rebuild in one hit. My only decision left to make is whether to keep the Sportpack arches, or go for something different. I quite fancy CF miglia arches, but don't think they'd suit. Really it should be on 6 x 10 wheels with Group 2 arches, it's the right era for that I reckon

At Bingley I will be looking out for some nice alloy 4 pot setups and maybe some harnesses

..........Are you going for the stripped out look ?
I am it must be the in thing at the moment.!!!.........
Well, I'm not having a back seat as there will be a roll cage and harnesses there eventually. Not sure about leaving the carpet in, might do, might not do. I have a sportpack cooper clockset with magnolia gauges that I might fit, but it will look kinda out of place. Might just move the centr speedo right out to make room for the Weber box and put a big old rev counter in there too.

Oooh, and I picked the 10" wheels up today, my god they look tiny!

Obviously these are just plonked on the floor near a jacked up car with no hubs on it, but you get the idea!

I am just looking at 4 pots and I know it's been asked loads and loads, but I really can't decide which ones to go for to suit the wheel size! I 'think' I am going to go for Minisport ones, but that's only because of the cost. Has anyone used the Minispares ones and if so, how do they compare to Minisport? I'd love to go KAD, but they are an extra ton!
