NO!!! :ermm:

I've found the cause of the problem though (I think).......

My clutch release arm has sorta straightened itself out. I compared it to a spare one and the end where the pushrod is around 10mm further away from the slave cylinder than it should be. So, I've adjusted the return stop and it's nearly there now...

Looksies....

Not sure if the cranked one is supposed to be cranked though. They've both got the same part number on em, but they are definitely different. Anyway, the cranked one is now fitted, though it does have some wear on the ball where it attaches to the plunger.

Even better news, it's now developed a nasty sounding misfire!!! :(

Compression tester will tell me more in the morning, but I think it may be one that's gonna make me cry!

Oooh oooh, and my heater rad's leaking too now! YAAY!!!

Wasn't! Honest! :dontgetit:

whats the engine spec mr matt? :ermm:

It's a 1380, with a homebuilt head and a few other trick bits basically. It's somewhere near the start of the thread in full detail I fink

EDIT: Here y'are:

It's a 1380 A+ block, with Powermax pistons.
Leaded MG Metro head, ported out as far as I dared,
1.5:1 roller rockers,
286 cam,
Maniflow phase 2 LCB,
Megajolt ignition,
Ultralight flywheel, backplate,
Orange diaphragm,
'Rally' clutch plate (IIRC),
Straight cut drops,
SCCR gearbox with X-pin diff and 3.444:1 FD ratio,
Umm, umm, that's it I fink

Oh, the exhaust is a Scorpion stainless steel one, single silencer, 1.7/8" bore. :)

It's got a 4 blade fan on there too, which is a little noisier than standard one.

Yes Bungle!

Anyway, the compression test didn't show any faults, good compression on all four (as it should be on a new engine).

Aaaand, it was basically because I'd tweaked the idle adjusting screws in too far on one side of the 45. I've been out and bought a carb balancer and made sure they're both sucking the same too.

So now it's back to a normal setting, though I think the idle jets are a little too big to be honest as it seems to overfuel a little at idle, then clear when revved.

MUHAHAHAHA!!!!! MUHAHAHAHA!!!!

I've just driven the FReaK about to miles!!!! :dontgetit: :alien: fapping :D

The orange clutch diaphragm isn't that hard to operate either, nice and simple, the only real problem I have is with gearing. I think the 3.444:1 FD ratio is a little too high for my engine spec. When I'm doing about 30 (well, just below) it's really hard to keep it smooth in 3rd, so you need to be in 2nd really. It's all a little high geared for my liking.

Plus, I really HAVE to change the exhaust for a quieter one, it's too noisy, waaaaaay too noisy.

And, it's getting MOT'd at 10 in the morning. I don't expect it to pass, I noticed a rack boot had a little split in it, but I've not had time to change it. I must have nicked it when I cut off the zip ties to adjust the tracking and not noticed

But anyway, I've driven the FReaK I've driven the FReaK and I LIKED IT!!! =]
