YAAY! I love bodywork!!! :)

Sooo, I've sorted the Sportpack holes....... painted the wings.......... rubbed down the runs :D just need to put another top coat on them then it's polish time. Then I can see how good they look. :P

I am sooooooo out of practise with bodywork, I'm shockingly bad at it now!

Anyway, the thing is, it's nearly done!

Got to just concentrate on the carb setup now, but I sorta put that to the back of my list of priorities. My way of thinking was to get everything else sorted so the car's ready to roll (which it now is apart from just fixing the arches back on and lowering the rear a little bit). So, once I've put the arches on, I can drive/trailer it to the guy who's setting up me carb for me and putting it on the rollers. It does kinda run, but it's waaaaay over-fuelling at the moment.

Oh yeah, I also need to get the suspension geometry set up. ^_^

MS...I don't think it's appropriate that you're asking what matt's woman is "putting out". Very unkind indeed :D .
But on a slightly less inuedoness side, what would it make for power?

Are you insinuating that Matts woman is a freak :P

You were the one who said it and on your head be it :)

You guys!

Anyway, I've done some more bodywork to it, but I'm still not happy so I'm sorta giving up on the bodywork front and am going to get someone else to do it for me when I can afford to get it sorted properly (rent a compressor, buy proper materials etc)... It'll have do make do with an aerosol job on the front wings and the doors for now.

Ummm, I've been thinking this weekend about pinstriping it. I need something '70's style though. I've always liked the sidestripes on the Britax Coopers and was thinking of something similar to that, but not as deep. I'm also thinking of it being in white.....

Like this but a little thinner:

The problem is, I don't want it to look like it's an attempt to copy the Britax Coopers, especially as I think they were based on a MKI Cooper S. :dontgetit:

I can do custom vinyls at work, so I may have a play around. I might ask someone in the digital mini section to do some photoshopping for me

O/S wing:

They need flatting off a little (runs again) and another top coat, but they're not looking too bad now to be fair. I have to keep telling myself that this is just temporary, it IS going to get a flip front soon!

In those piccies, the arches are only resting in place. They take a better form when they're fixed on properly, so look better now. :dontgetit:

I think I had those arches and the fronts went under the bumper?! Or do you have to have them that high because of whats been cut out?

Looking good though, am very tempted to go with Megajolt on the Minus....

Yup, nail on head. Because the arches have been cut for 13 x 7s, there's just not enough metal there to mount the arches under the bumper. I know they look pap, but they'll have to do until the new front goes on

I think they look better on top of the bumper... i think they usually go ontop of the the bumper too... tho, you do get a lot of variation depending on where you get them from. These are retroracer1380's, i think they're from huddersfield... soz, not trying to turn this into another arch topic... just to show you...

soooo, it now needs the bodywork fettling, just little bits here and there, but it's usable.

Still to do:
Door handles, outer, door pulls, latches, release mechs,
Bootskin,
Bonnet pins need aligning,
Fit my sneaky washer bottle, :)
Lower the drastically high back end a little,
Refurb wheels,
Fit new tyres,
Final fit of interior,
Paint some more stuff,
Fit custom switch panel between seats :o
Wire up custom switch panel,

GET ENGINE RUNNING PROPERLY!!! :P
